Forrest Gump: Feather Theme (Extended) 

My family & I lost our dear brother Mark recently. He was a wonderful family man, devoted husband & proud grandfather. He loved the Forrest Gump movie. Now, every time I hear this song, I will think of him. He will always be missed, but never forgotten. We will always love you brother Mark !

My Wife was called Jenny and we played this at her funeral 😢

when i hear this song i cry like crazy... i have no idea why... but when the feather flies away at the end of the movie, it tears me apart... this song is so incredibly good!!!

Wrote my dissertation to this song. Trained my brain that when this song was on, it was time to focus and write. Still go back to it when I need to focus. This version makes it much easier (just have to restart every 30 minutes now).

sometimes you don't realize things until they're too late... There was an old man in my town who sat on the bench in the park at the same time every Monday and just watched the people. Every time I went to work and wandered through this park, I saw that man sitting there on this bench. On a particular Monday, I was walking through the park in a hurry because I was very late and I didn't want to be late for work. When I stopped briefly at the garbage can at this bank to throw away my garbage, the old man asked me why I was in such a hurry? I just told him I was late and had to hurry up and he just said "be careful not to rush to fast past the beautiful things in life." I just smiled at that moment and kept walking, but the words kept going through my head. I just didn't know what exactly he wanted to tell me...On Monday the following week I went through the park again, this time had more time and was looking forward to maybe talking to the old man a little longer. But when I got to the bank, he wasn't sitting there. He sat there every Monday for several months in a row, but not this time. I wondered what happened to him and sat down on this bench...I was overwhelmed because when you sat on this bench you could see straight ahead through some bushes and trees the lake, reflecting sunbeams on its surface, the ducks and swans circling there and the city skyline on the horizon. It was so incredibly beautiful and I had never noticed it. And now I know what the old man meant, that we rush through life too fast and don't see the beauty. Only when this old man was no longer sitting there did I stop and recognize this beautiful view. Sometimes we don't recognize the beautiful things in life because we walk past them too quickly or only become aware of them when other things are no longer there. But these beautiful things in life are always there, we just have to stop and recognize them. I am very grateful to this old man for showing me and wherever he is now I know he is there with a smile.

I listen daily to this beauty ❤ in honour of my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie who sadly passed away Dec 28th 2019 aged 38 years 😥💔😥 Miss you for the rest of mine your Mum 😥💔😇💔😥

I lost my son Tyler last August 2021. We used to watch this movie and then let this play over and over at the end of the movie. This reminds me of him being close to me.

Forest Gump was a simple man. He understood what love is. The profound statement at Jenny's grave near the end of the movie (of which the feather was symbolic) summed up the movie perfectly: that some say life is a pre-planned destiny, and some say it is completely random but actually (and Forest is right here)--it is both!

What a brilliant movie and the music too! And Tom Hanks! Played the part like very few others could have. The matter-of-factness, the lack of hatred, the plain simplicity and honesty of feeling. Back to the basics. Life is so simple really. Friends, looking out for one another. A great message. And we make it so complicated. All about me and my and selfishness, when it could be so much better otherwise, if one could take a moment to think. A great movie which one keeps on watching.

This song was on a Sheltie Rescue site and played this for the dogs that had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Cried every time I watched and heard this song.

Yes it is a very special theme, both sad, but its also give hope and inspiration.

My husband passed away almost 7 years now. Our oldest son plans to scatter our remains on his Dad's favorite place after I too pass away...and play a recording of this while another of our son's films it for our future grandchildren.

I loved Forest Gump when it came out I was 4 days shy of 11 yes old. My mom and uncle went to see it in the theater. I was so mad cause she wouldn’t let me see it with them 😡 she didn’t like the war scenes , the language etc. So when I finally saw it a few years later. I fell in love. Firstly Tom Hanks is the best actor EVER 😅 Second the storyline has so many lessons in it. It Has a little history. Good music but this theme song with the feather is absolutely gorgeous 💜 My dad passed away 2 weeks ago on 1/16/23. I miss u daddy. I’m listening to this beautiful song late at night missing you and wondering what your up to in heaven. Watch over your 3 girls. 👩🏻👱🏻‍♀️👩🏻

I just found a little music box that played this. It took me a minute but then I remembered the ‘Forrest feather scene’ - I’m currently homeless and making a transition back indoors. It’s a time of uncertainty for me and listening to this helps..even though it makes me cry like a baby. 😭🥲

Dan and look at all the wonderful work he has done to help so many men and women come home from wars without arms and legs and his foundation does amazing wonderful things. And for all the very good things that Gary did and does, it’s still didn’t stop providence from touching him as he recently in the last six months or so lost his son back to a very, very horrible cancer. There may be some truth. In the fact that life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.
