Before you play Forspoken, here are 10 things I wish I had known sooner before I played the game which hopefully will help you out from a gameplay perspective before you do jump into play Forspoken which releases January 24th.

Forspoken follows the journey of Frey, a young New Yorker transported to the beautiful and cruel land of Athia. In search of a way home, Frey must use her newfound magical abilities to traverse sprawling landscapes and battle monstrous creatures.
Frey's unique abilities allow her to fluidly traverse the open world with ease.
Scale walls, vault across canyons, leap from dizzying heights, and dash through vast landscapes.
Using her newfound magical abilities, Frey is not only able to nimbly traverse the treacherous terrain of Athia and explore her strange new surroundings. This Magic Parkour also comes in handy when she comes toe-to-toe with the multitude of enemies lurking in the corrupted landscape of the Break.
Frey Holland was used to feeling like an outsider while growing up in New York City, but she is quickly pushed to her limits after being mysteriously transported to Athia, a strange land with people, places, and cultures unlike anything Frey has ever seen. When she is mysteriously transported to the fantastical land of Athia, she discovers the ability to cast powerful spells and use magic to traverse the sprawling landscapes. With her magical, sentient bracelet “Cuff” she sets off on a journey to find a way home. Frey’s journey through this strange and treacherous land will take her deep into the heart of corruption where she must battle monstrous creatures, confront the powerful Tantas, and uncover secrets that awaken something much more from within.

I am not too far in the game but so far it has been a lot of fun. My biggest gripe with the early parts of the game are the copious amount of cut scenes and fade to black to cutscenes. It was just an hour of cut scene and fade to black. The game really does start to get fun when you get out into athia. I am glad i picked this up though, the bad reviews have lowered my expectations so i end up having a great time so far.

Yes, it does pick up quite nicely once you're able to freely explore Athia. It gets even better from Tanta Sila onward. I'd even go so far as to say that the last 3rd of the game hits on all cylinders. Story, characters, and gameplay. Still though, if the story had just been mediocre to average then this game would've been highly well received. Hope you enjoy it.

Tip: To Negate Fall Damage (before gaining the ability) you can Parkour Off a Ledge then Attack before hitting the ground, causing Fre to Slow her Descent. Useful for when you don't feel like taking a Safe Way Down.

You forgot to mention the Curio Collector's Shop in Inner Visoria; he's got 5 useful Items, the main-&-most-expensive of which is a Sewing Kit that allows Frey to craft her-own OC Cloak, "Unbroken", and OC Necklace, "Home Sweet Hell".

I am glad I didn't care about the reviews and brought the deluxe straight away. When I played the demo, the game proved what I wanted. An action game other than just sword and shield but a bunch of cool magics that rewards you even more if you learn how to combine all aspects of it's abilities

The "Green Magic Spell Tree" (or "Olas' Magic") is not 'Air Magic', as you called it, it's electrical and illusional spells (no wind involved).

There is also a auto parkour setting which will automatically move Frey during combat avoiding almost any damage which is helpful allowing the player to just focus on attacking. Also this auto parkour setting when used in combat allows for much easier and higher combat ranking.

To complete the counter challenge for Shield Burst Lv. 2, let the enemy hit a charged up shield while facing them (took me longer than I want to admit to find out and there doesn't seem to be any coverage on this, I'd like to think this isn't a major spoiler considering it's in the initial spell tree you get).

Great video, I’d also change the setting for auto switch support magic, it will switch to whatever support magic (pressR2) isn’t on cooldown, easy to to just spam it and reck peeps. Also is another vendor in Visoria that takes old coins for much better rewards but are very costly, most being sewing kit which is 64, but shows you to craft your own cloak and necklace so you can save up instead of spending at one of the other shops

I went in not expecting much after seeing negative press. I've been enjoying the game a lot more than I thought I would. There are some drawbacks. The very slow start (wth) the dialogue parts that are slow to resume play. Mostly small stuff like that. The gameplay is a lot of fun and I've always liked the grind for mats from old school games. So, liking it a lot (so far)

There’s additional chapter after finishing the game. So once you roll the credit and it takes you back to the main menu you can just jump back in a play it (depending on the ending)

The game makes much more sense and you progress more easily, there’s a lot of tutorials all across the game that will pop even late on, so it’s all helpful and explained really good in comparison to the demo. I was confused myself when I dived into middle of story in the demo in comparison to when I played it from the beginning.

I disagree with the lock thing, every lock can be unlocked in 2-3 moves 100% of the time. If you’ve done more than that just reset and try again. It only takes 2-3 moves guys.

I am definitely intrigued by this game. I love magic so seeing a game delve into exclusive magic combat is always interesting. The gameplay looks really interesting and solid. Meanwhile, the dialogue has seemed a bit iffy from what I have seen. Gonna wait until this game is out to decide if I want to dive into it.

Definitely take your time and review it until you make up your mind mate, one of my polite criticisms was that the game was very expensive. I think it's a lot of fun tbh but I'm not sure it's £65-£90+ worth of fun if you know what I man? (but perhaps this is the standard cost for AAA games nowadays) Hope you enjoyed the video btw! Hey Tim! I'll be honest with you mate, I think this is an enjoyable game (combat & parkour for me) but not for the current price tag. To put it in perspective, God of War Ragnarok is more expensive than Forspoken and I would not put them on the same level at all. Imo, better to save your money for now and grab it when it drops down to a more realistic and reasonable price (just my opinion). Hope the video was informative btw and if you do jump into the game, I also hope you enjoy it as well Tim!

I think it's good fun in certain parts of the game but also not so fun in other parts (a lot of looting)! what I would say is that I think it's worth a look in if you're interested in it, but in fairness, I think it's overpriced for what it is currently and I would recommend waiting for it to drop in price which I think would be more consumer-friendly. But the caveat to that is £65 is probably a standard triple AAA game nowadays so perhaps that's just the base cost we need to get used to when buying these games

I honestly feel like this game could have sparked off a dynasty of sequels and spin offs. They had so much potential, there is so much going for this game, they put so much work into specific aspects, yet other areas seem like they were ignored nearly completely. From what I've seen most of the characters come off as completely devoid of critical thinking, or are just insufferable, the price doesn't help either. It's a marketed as a triple A, $90 game in Canada, not sure how anyone can explain a cost that high. It looks pretty but there's a lot about it I can't get behind. Honestly it feels like such a rip off another game, A game I played many years ago released in 2003 called Primal, the similarities to that game are borderline plagiarism in my opinion.
