Once you move away from simple printed ties and dive into the world of textured ties, there is no way back. If you are looking for more interesting ties, Fort Belvedere is a great place to start your collection of textured ties. One thing about Fort Belvedere socks: they shrink a little after the first wash but that only makes them even more hugging. After a year of wear I am glad to report that my initial three pairs are still in great condition (no loose threads or open ribs).

Yes, Johnny that is right. We size them so they are the perfect size after you wash them. After all we want you to have socks that fit you once they are washed, not some that are good out of the box but then are to small once you wash them

Don’t sleep on the nappa leather gloves... I just got a pair in cognac and they are superb. Best quality gloves I’ve ever owned and at $160 or so, a real bargain for the quality of the product. Sven has really filled a great niche in the men’s clothing/accessories market. The prices may seem high at first but when you compare his stuff with others (who most likely are even more expensive) you see that the price/quality/value dynamic is very much in line.

Thanks for the review, Jon. I noticed that the small end of your tie was longer than the front wide end. To eliminate this problem try tying a full Windsor knot. It will use up move of the tie and look fine as long as you wear a spread collar. Again, thanks for reviewing Fort Belvedere.

Agreed. I'm just getting into the tie bar's products and I would love to be able to afford the next level but my bank account doesn't love silk ties the same way that I do.

Thank you. I know we don't offer the cheapest product, but we just buy the most expensive fabrics for ties out there and we want to create a high quality product. When I was a poor student, I would save up some money and buy something nice every once in a while. I still wear those high quality pocket squares and ties today, while the ones I bought on sale I got rid of a long time ago. So the cost per wear is amazing.

@@MBisFrenchy We are producing a bunch of things and I have to politely disagree with you. Margins in the cosmetic industry, eyewear, cologne, lotion, hair products etc. are 10-30 times better than in ties

I really love GG videos & advice, plus I love looking at their pocket squares ( especially the fact that they are 16.5 in. compared to the tiny 12- 13 inches that you get everywhere else), & I can afford them. But I don’t know that I want to pay $70 - $75 for a pocket square, because I have over 20 pocket squares that I have bought use on eBay, for really good deals. I’m sure someday I will someday breakdown & buy one.

I bought some gloves and boutonnières recently from Fort Belvedere. I’d highly recommend them. They have different sizes for gloves so they will actually fit you properly. The boutonnières are by far the best I’ve ever owned.

For me, Fort Belvedere makes the absolute best products for classic mens wear hands down. I have 2 pairs of shoelaces, flat and round and their small white carnation. I really want to get their socks next when i can afford it because store bought socks are too long for my size 7 feet.

Over the calf is the way to go especially with dress pants and suits. Nobody needs to see a men's legs in that setting.

I don't wear dress socks and almost never wear ties, but still found this video interesting. Men's socks reviewers should show us their socked feet, in my opinion. Good job. 3:55 And they should address topics like sweat and smell management, which you have done in other socks reviews.

Some really nice ties and socks, I would probably buy a batch of ties wasn't it for the import duty (sending the stuff back to Europe). I have also slightly mixed feelings over the luxury boxes, it is a shame from an environmental point of view.

Do you think these will be in your rotation frequently? Or will you keep things like the socks and ties for special occasion? I understand the boutanniere will probably not be rotated on a regular basis.

I'd like to hear you compare these ties to other expensive brands like Drake's and Bigi. I know you'd sooner review The Tie Bar than a classic luxury brand like Drake's, but it's not really fair to compare the Fort Belvedere ties to something from The Tie Bar, now is it?

The high-end tie world is small. Drakes ties are great. We buy our fabrics from the same people that Drakes and other high-end makers do. The difference is the designs and the materials, interlinigns and thread. For example the mohair tie in the video is a pattern and composition that was made exclusively for us. Also, a Drakes tie is a lot more expensive than ours, especially if you consider our package pricing of 3 ties or 6 ties. That being said, are we producing the best ties in the world? No, because that would have to be custom made for each person, but then the cost goes up significantly. We produce high-quality ties from the best fabrics we can source at a fair price. If you like Drakes designs more, it is ok to buy them, they are good ties. So I got two upper end ties, one is a Kingsman by Mr Porter, the other one by Croata. The Kingsman one also came in a beautiful box, it's the typical Mr Porter Box, but not even that matches those FB boxes

Ironically, I was looking at their site yesterday (specifically for socks) and noticed the different sizes. Was curious what an xl size sock fit re foot size as I couldn’t seem to find that anywhere; however , I know you typically wear a 45 in a dress shoe so if that’s an xl in a sock...I’m out of luck with Fort Belvedere! :(

They’re custom flannel wool from Oliver Wicks. Most of my pants now are moving to side tabs. I never want to go back to belts

For socks I recommend Mes Chaussettes Rouge, a great vendor of the best socks in the world (Gamarrelli, Mazarin, Bresciani...) worthy of a review. For pocket squares, I was amazed to find excellent ones on AliExpress, there’s only one seller offering handrolled pocket squares on Ali but they have silk, linen, wool, the lot and in all color options too, and the price is €10 a piece, fantastic value for money and I suspect many brands have their pocket squares made by them. For ties, two words, Viola Milano, the best materials, designs, production quality, and they have sales often enough to be able to find the best handrolled 7-folds for €70 a piece.

All of your videos are great. Fort Belvedere, however, is so incredibly overpriced, it's funny. Gents, you don't need to spend this much on ties, or socks, or cufflinks; and you don't have to buy made in china garbage either. Their prices...ha! Keep searching...and stop throwing your money away on FB...
