Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park in Groton, Connecticut 

Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park preserves the Revolutionary War fort that Americans defended against a British attack on September 6, 1781. Just across Park Street from the fort are the Groton Monument (a 135-foot obelisk), the Monument House Museum, and the Robert A. Gray Monument, which honors Groton’s Civil War veterans.
