The Fortepan Iowa archive--fortepan.us/ia (part of the Fortepan.us cooperative portal)--features family snapshots of everyday Iowa life as well as other historical photographs of Iowa. The project is based at the University of Northern Iowa and serves the state of Iowa.
The collaborative photo collection is easy to explore through a timeline interface and searchable tags. It's also free to use, share, and distribute, and any version of Fortepan Iowa can be embedded into another website.
