Actually Jones does reference the past in a way but since the dialogue is skimmed over you didn't get to read it He relates Hope's difficulties as a leader to his first time joining The Seven and somewhat references Slone when talking about Oracle since she's "a friend that won't shoot you"
Some heal you like the medic, they can also revive you in duos or above, some like the heavy one ruckus will through explosives grenades at enemy players, the scout will ping near by loot and players and the normal one drops you ammo. They are fun to hire but usually just get elimed or wiped out. or give away your position lol.
