Fortnite CHAPTER 4 EVENT Reaction! 

Personally, I think the fight for the island should’ve been the event. All that season of chrome leading up to a 30sec fight with The Herald was underwhelming. There was no foundation statue vault reveal, there was nothing done about the cracks in the sky/rifts, the loop breaker project was incomplete, etc. It would have been cool to fulfill those story gaps, then end with the black hole leading into downtime. Then, once downtime ended, the restoration sequence we played through would have been a great way to OPEN the chapter before we go onto the island.

Though I agree the event was lame and honestly it went so slow I was hoping it would end, I am really happy with the final cutscene. The next island looks awesome

i feel like the thing that made the event as bad as people say it is, is the fact that the event was overly long for no reason Edit / Explaination: Most of the event consisted of us doing chores that don’t count for anything and wasn’t fun at all. Instead of us watching the zero forge the map together, we could’ve been playing the first cinematic as the event ( I think someone in the comments said something like that ) and the zero point could forge the map back together during downtime, ( our players looking at the map), and at the end of downtime ( the end of the map forging itself together ), that’s where the season started, and we could have like a little transition into the season. Tbh that wouldn’t make sense tho because we would still have to update the game.

Ngl, the event was the worst one yet, and that’s an understatement.

The only 2 reasons I hate this live event is because 1: we used the herald as a plot device and not the big bad of the chapter and threw out everything that was built up to the events. An example of this is bytes. We completely left him out of the live event even though half the season is built around him working for the herald. Number 2 is how the entire rest of the live event is a bundle of fetch quests that we had to wait for because they were on separate parts of the island. The only reason I hate this is because it's a 40 muinite fetch quest with no satisfying ending to the big bad of the last chapter and her desiple who was half the plot of the last season.

The live event was underwhelming for many reasons. (very long essay) 1. All that build up with the Paradise and Bytes quests didn't bear any fruit. Jonesy was nowhere to be seen, and Bytes didn't play a part as an evil henchman alongside the Herald. 2. The island's destruction was so sudden, it feels rushed. That island has been our home for at least 3 years, and that's how it goes? Epic didn't even bother adding more ripple effects or a slo-mo as we zoom out and see everything get thrown into the universe. We saw the Zero Point lose it's light and honestly I think that they should've kept it dormant for at least a minute or so. It recovered so quickly. Also, although very random, they shouldn't have scrapped the Mothership coming to collect the Zero Point. It would've added more impact. 3. There are still no resolutions as to where The Foundation is. The Vault was destroyed with the island, and the rest of the Seven Members were not seen. There was only a brief mention of The Scientist and that's it. Paradigm was there, sure, but seriously.. that's it from them? 4. The whole "Collect Zero Fragments" segment of the game was just a snooze fest. I personally missed the first 30 minutes of the event and I realized that I didn't even miss much, and my friends said the same thing. Sure they showed bits of the OG map, but that's honestly just pandering towards the audience's need for nostalgia. All in all, the event would be a solid 2/5 for me. It was boring and didn't deliver as it promised. The hype was over exaggerated. All those "Nothing" threats really turned out to be nothing in the end.

There was a huge difference between the black hole and this event, the black hole event was executed so much better. It was more emotional and was a big lead up to the chapter but this event just didn’t do it.

I think the interactive features were cool, but I thought it was building up to main part of the event. I didn’t realize that it was whole event.

Expectation of the event being the longest yet: Action packed, lore dropped everywhere, The nothing appears, big battle Reality: Collect orb for trailer of new map

This was the first event that I actually wanted it to end

I wish we could’ve fought her and it not just being a cutscene. It would’ve made it a lot less stale

The event was me basically throwing snowballs at people, transforming into a beach ball, and doing time travels. This event was TOO overhyped. 😢

This event makes the ice king one look good💀

I gave the interactive part 3/10, but the cinematics 8/10. There was so much of it that was confusing and we couldn't talk to our party either. It was beautiful to look at, but compared to past chapter events, it felt impossible to get through it.

The event would have been better if we were there shooting the Herald at the beginning for a couple mins and then the cutscene of her destroying the map Then we just watch the zero point assemble the map which would only take like 2 minutes and then we get the final cutscene. The problem with this even was how there was 40 minutes of just sitting.

The fact that the map was blown apart so easily and fast despite all the other way more cooler threats from past seasons..ugh

This chapter is gonna by far be the weirdest and new found chapter yet, can’t wait for content from SypherPK on this new map❤️

The craziest part is this was a live event for a new chapter, but it was by far the worst of them all.

The event felt more like the zero crisis finale but with multiple people

I think most can agree that this event was disappointing. definitely isn't the worst event and i did like it but man it just shouldn't have been 40 minutes of just fetching zero fragments. The Work-In-Progress live event in the files had the mothership try and capture the zero point and the zero point just exploded the mothership according to hypex i believe. that would've been so much cooler.

super excited for the new map also nice to start with a winter christmas saison

I think the event was okay. It was nothing like past events. They maybe could’ve done a bit better, but ‘reforging’ the island was actually fun. Can’t wait for Chapter 4!! 💯

I'm very disappointed in this live event which took so much time searching for things. I felt it could've have been way better but overall, I'm just hype 🔥 for the new season.

Hoped that there was more cinematic than interactive like how boring would the monster vs mech would be if you had to fech a different part of the mech everytime the monster hit it

I wanted more cinematic clips than a whole evebt of a mini game

Can we all agree that all 3 of these goats need a skin, sypher got his and if the other 2 did, then the most "iconic" trio would be formed.

I really hope they keep the idea that this map is a patchwork of all other realities. I would hat for it to look like a normal island without the ideas of the other maps. We should be able to walk around and SEE where the different chunks were stitched together. Otherwise, they might as well have just kept the old island.

At this point this event didn’t really hyped me up so much, I just wish it could be better. I even got kicked out during the event. 😭

by far the most visually appealing event, but it definitely could've used more cinematic scenes. there was a lot of disorienting gameplay with all of those quests, but it was undoubtedly fun to explore. on a lore-wise note, did the herald just... kill herself with chrome? it seems like she fell into the reality tree and solidified, but why? i don't get that part. previous cinematics have clarified that chrome can be controlled when the herald literally morphed from chrome into herself, so you'd think she could do vice versa without freezing in place. fortnite's lore will always be confusing, so i won't question it too much. cool event, confusing lore, good game.

They should have a game mode for 24 hrs that allows people to experience the live event if they aren’t able to make it to the first one. I work during the day so I never get to actually experience it. I have only been able to participate in one event, and that was the one where everything was blank for around 24 hrs.

The built the herald up as such a huge threat, just to have her die while in the reality tree.

The fact that epic games is valued at over 30 billion and they can’t have a team that makes an interesting 5 minute event is actually appalling.

When i played the event by 40 min i thought it meant like cinematic and PROPER playing time but still awesome at the end

I like when sypher doesn’t know what’s going on. Gave off the impression he knew all that was happening before it happened and nothing surprised him. Epic probably told all these guys about the event but I personally like watching sypher experience everything for the first time.

The way the map was reforged was like in the 2015 Secret Wars event. When Doctor Doom became a god and took pieces from different universes to make Battleworld

If the whole “collecting” thing only took like idk 3-5 minutes it wouldn’t be so bad.. it would be a mini game type thing, as well as a strong part of the storyline mixed in at the end. 👨🏽‍🦯

The live event was good, but could've been better. The reason why we're so disappointed is because we're used to Fortnite having extravagant and unique events, such as The End 2.0 or Collison. If we had this event all the way back in early Chapter 1, we would've lost our minds. Point being, it's not a bad event at all, but just not the best we know Epic could do

The fact that the zero point has the ability to grab pieces of landscape from other realities to create its own island is incredible.

this left so much to answered because there was no appearance of the nothing we never saw what the people in the teasers were looking at and we didn't find out about Donald mustard's reality teasers. Edit they also didn't have anything about John Jones or Midas who they were teasing.Edit 2 the location of the foundation was never revealed and we never saw inside of the bunker. so many untied strings.

I really expected us to participate in a war against the herald. That would have been so cool. Really a bummer

The event was mid, but the thing about chapter 4 that I am most excited for is the witcher game collaboration🔥

It had really good effects and really good graphics. In terms of fun, it wasnt good. Visuals, it was awesome.

I was so hyped for this event to happen and yet I was kinda disappointed. I thought the Zero Point was gonna blow up then the broken parts would grab other POI's and bring them in to create the new map I hope the new chapter is good though

After seeing the deleted scene, makes sense. The Herald sacrificed herself by blowing up the island and leaving the Last Reality to abduct the Zero Point.

I feel like there have been season-end events better than this. I thought the island parts coming together was just the start of the main "event" but then it just ends lol

After years of daily Fortnite I haven't logged into Fortnite or watched any content since the Chromium season started. New chapter features look great but I'm not getting sucked back in 😅

Idk how I feel about the event but I like the map

The event could have been better , if we were just on the island when the chrome spread and we also shoot the harrald and then the island would evplode and launch us out , and the event would continue as it did , but if they just made it less like a creative map it would have been much better

The part when there getting the zero point fragments feels and looks like the inside of the Mother Ship in season 7 chapter 2

Not only was it a really bad event but about half way thru collecting the zero point parts I got a glitch and then went invisible and couldn't move

I was halfway through the event when all the sudden I just logged out and I never got to see this with my own eyes

The event was TOO interactive! It would better if we just have to spectate with our character like from the Travis Scott event, or like Ch2 S7 Live Event. Those were the best imo
