Fortnite Chapter 5 has a BIG Problem. 

I managed to get ALL 5 Medallions in one game and I became basically unkillable, Enjoy guys!

The Movement is really a big problem in chapter 5. Since it hasn‘t changed since chapter 1 its hard to get used to it.

To make it a little more balanced, the medallions should just give your player siphon instead of quickly regenerating sheild

I think the best solution to this issue is to make it such that you don't immediately heal after taking damage. Like for example maybe you have to not take damage for 6-8 seconds before the medallions start healing you

The medallions are pretty much the llamas from The Getaway LTM, everyone can see you on the map and you gain shield overtime. The only difference is that it doesn't make you slower or take place in the inventory.

My least favorite change - and I don't see almost anyone talking about it - is the locker rework. They separated the skins, musics and loading screens, emotes, and weapon wraps into their own tabs. I really hate this because I customized all of these around each character, and not all of the sets saved. PLEASE, Epic, change this back!

One more thing they added to healing, the big shields and medkits heal you or give you shield little by little, when you change to a weapon while you are healing the medkit or the big shield will drop and the process will be stopped. For example, I have full health and 25 shield, I use a big shield, after 3 seconds of using it I switch to a gun but the big pot will disapear and I will have like 50, 55 shield or so. The new healing system is kinda weird but kinda cool to let you heal little by little instead of full, when it was in Chapter 4 you had to wait 5 seconds to pop that big shield now you can get 25 or 30 shield if you are in a rush or you get pushed and you need shield ASAP.

A great nerf might be you can only carry one of each version of medallions since there’s one coming that increases your shield capacity that way you can’t have a million shield with fast shield regen too

I think the medallions should have different properties other than healing maybe have some that regenerate your ammo over time like rockets etc maybe one that regenerates your utility items like shock waves and grenades making grenades more powerful since they can regenerate epic can be a lot more creative with these medallions

An easy fix is making the medallions a held item so it takes up space for guns and heals or mobility

You can also find attachment benches just around the map in some random places, most of which are underground. There’s on on the floating island as well

I love this season so far, im newish so every season i have played seems so different and thats not something i see in most br games. Though the gameplay is slower this season it is easy to adapt to and the new weapon system makes up for it

Movement is a big issue for me. Getting used to it is hard and as someone with a medical condition it has become a trigger for migraines and nausea. The jolt between 3rd and first person is too aggressive. I don't remember it being like this in chapter 3 and 4. i think the new locker as well didn't need a redesign. It makes life so much harder to favourite and unfavourite items. It's just annoying. The map and guns are great, the rest needs to be refined or reverted.

I think that chapter 5 is fun, the only problem is I wish they reverted the movement back. Although i do forget about it sometimes when im having fun

Maybe on future updates one of the medallions could give you sprint or crouch speed boost lol Love the map, love the weapons, I just have to get used to the movement.

Medallions should be passive kind of like Octane in Apex where he only self heals when he hasn't been shot at. So more medallions would lessen the time, but if shot at would stop self healing.

I love Chapter 5 so far. Everything is great, except the movement. Walking and crouching feels slower than normal, and the storm speed got buffed. It does insane damage even as a one tick.

It’s a massive update but it feels like a huge step back

Chapter 5 is great besides the movement. Slower walking WITH a bigger map is a bad decision.

i really missed the OP loot you get in endgame. Last season it was very common to get a green AR blue pump and bandages in endgame

The names before each weapon indicate the attachments. Iron warrior is iron sight (no reticle). Covert ops has a suppressor at least. And cover fire has a scope at the least. I thought I would let you know since you didn’t mention it. And maybe you could make a detailed video on it.

Yeah the main problem I have with this season is the storm speed, phase 6 is when it starts moving back into the storm. Also second problem is the medallions heals.

A lot of people don’t know this, but using the sniper with NO optic is actually really good as an assault rifle replacement.

Yes plz make a video on the best attachments and how to aim with the new guns/dealing with bullet drop…I logged on last night and I feel like it’s harder to aim then apex now

The movement, least animations, NEEDED an overhaul. Crouching is a bit slower it feels, but they just maybe need to tweak speed up? However, now that we can PROPERLY WALK, something I've been wanting over the odd uncomfortable jog we've had, I'm opening my arms wide to these new animations, even if the movement is a bit fudged somehow. It's a bit odd seeing the players run a bit more tactical, and a bit goofy with some things, but I'm down for it. It's a change we'll have to get used to, just like all the other changes. I know for certain, that I'm willing to adjust to them.

i think epic should add a option in the settings so we can choose to use the new or the old movement

The biggest problem is how fast the storm is and that the movement feels kinda clunky

Fortnite got the OG map and OG season for a reason. They knew the game would flop if the old players wouldn’t return.

I love the slowed down crowch movement. Forces players to walk. Walking should be sped up a little tho

I love the chapter a lot but I havent played since chapter 1 and only came back because of OG so theres a lot of stuff thats been added that I dont understand and I guess it was in chapter 4 because its not explained anywhere

they could make the medallions do only a partial amount of shield like 20%. so 1 only keeps you up at 20, 2 at 40, etc. so you have to still use shield items.

the new animations and everything are amazing and was a needed change, but the movement being slower took some getting used to but i like it

for the solo drop spot if u go towards the ocean there’s a slurp truck and a launch pad at the bottom

Pros of new season - new guns - attachment system - medallions - map - no op shields CONS - every gun has bullet velocities instead of hits scan (makes guns very unfun to use) - movement is slow and clunky - scoped weapons fee more like COD and not fortnite (they went to far with the way the scopes move and make it visually overwhelming) -overall game feels unlike fortnite and more like a PUBG/warzone mix (personally make it unappealing)

Good way to show the power of having all five was to actually let them break your shield on purpose instead of being sweaty on the 2nd to last guy

I think that because they changed the original animation and speed, they could honestly add the old default sprint animation and speed to be AFTER the new one since it's slower. So for controller players or key pressure players it would be; New slow walk anim & speed > New full walk/jog Speed & anim > Old Full speed & anim. Now I'm not sure if that's even possible, and if it is, I'm sure it will be a difficult addition for transitioning the animations, but doing so they could keep the new animations and people wont complain. So it's based on how far you push the joystick or press down the key for specific players. Thoughts?

The worst change this season is definitely the locker

i think that each medallion should have some bonuses but you can carry only one of them: -Valeria's one should give you increased fire rate -Oscar's one should give you 20 extra shield points for a total of 120 shield and 20 extra health points for a total of 120 hp, plus every time you get a kill you get the slap effect -Montague's one should give you a damage bonus based on each bullet that hits your opponent, with a cap of three bullets (for example, if an ar deals 32 base damage, the 1st bullet after the first actual bullet should deal 35, then 37, then 39) -Peter's one should work like this: when your health reaches zero, you get up back with 75 hp after 0.75 seconds (it works once per match) -Nisha's one should give you an additional 0.5x headshot damage multiplier plus a permanent speed bonus. Hope you like the ideas

I think the movement speed controversy is a "Mouse and keyboard vs controller" thing, with a keyboard you can always walk directly forward with the W key but with a controller it's easier to go off to the diagonal position which makes it feel like you're going a lot slower

The movement hasn’t been a problem for me, but I’m on controller and my sensitivity settings are low, so maybe that helps? I actually like the fact I can move forward and look to my side way more easily. The only issue I have is that moving forward feels so slow unless you’re sprinting.

What if medallions took up an inventory slot? They give you afk shield so it would be worth it

They should make each medallion do something different like Maybe for example Peter’s will make any enemy dance in a medium radius (Taco time flashbacks)if your shield gets crack giving you a chance to escape a sticky situation or maybe for example the tiger dudes medallion let’s you do damage over time like bleed damage so it can finish off a kill for you and maybe for the diamond guy medallion you take less damage from enemies. Medallions have alot of potential and I feel like they should have different abilities.

I wish loot island was still the loot lake house. I wish slurps and mythics still spawned on the island, and that slurps were still in caches. Also, the pump this season sounds like the OG pump. This might legitimately be the worst UI update ever. So many of my locker loadouts were rearranged, and now that categories are separated, some are erased and rearranged. An emote set I had with my main skin is gone & a lot of other sets too. PLEASE revert this. The new movement seems so robotic too, and slow. The 3rd person POV also seems way too weird now. Lower, and too zoomed in. There's a lot wrong with the locker and movement changes.

I'm loving Chapter 5 so far. The map's general theme is something I've grown accustomed to very quickly and I already love a lot of the POIs. This battle pass is actually pretty solid and weapon mods are a pretty cool addition. My only issues boil down to shotguns feeling inconsistent (at least for me, eg I can kill someone in 3 shots with the Frenzy Auto but against another opponent in a very similar scenario I can take 5 shots at them and I will lose the fight anyway), and the storm. A lot of the time I feel like I'm just running from the storm, especially when landing at boss POIs, where I drop in, finally loot up then the storm is already there and I have to run non stop until 3rd or 4th zone. Movement isn't too big of a deal for me though I do think speed should be slightly increased. Overall one of the better chapter launches of the game for me

If all Medallions had different effects, it would honestly make more sense considering their looks and all I even came up with effects with reasons for kicks and giggles Montague - Stay as regen, in his fight, he prioritizes staying distanced and knocking the player away with shockwaves, as the slowish regen would prioritize running after taking too much damage, or finding cover to regen Oscar - Increase shield limit by 25, as Oscar prioritizes rushing and staying close, having a bit of extra HP to stay in the fray a bit longer and win quicker fights easier Nisha - Siphon on hit, Nisha is a duelist, and trading blows seems a bit symbolic, even if with a gun rather than blade, so giving a small amount of siphon (maybe like the shotgun siphon augment calculation) every hit, therefore allowing easier wins when trading, seems fitting Veronica - Increase reload speed and holster speed, Veronica has the least to work with, but the red coloring leads to a more aggressive idea for what it could be, so having faster reloads and faster holstering would allow hyper aggressive gameplay, not letting down pressure at any point Peter Griffin - Ammo reload on hit, Peter is reckless, and what's more reckless than constantly firing blindly and regaining the ammo of every shot you hit, allowing you to keep on firing, and as long as you hit shots, you won't have to reload Out of all of them, my idea of Peter's would probably be the weakest, but hey, this is all just fun ideas after all

Yeah the movement is the problem but also the medallions in zero build it’s so powerful like you have extra 50 shield and with the medallions it’s almost impossible to get a kill

biggest problem i have with this season is the fact even if someone is standing still my bullets dont damage them until after about 5 or 6 shots are fired thats with every gun snipers seem to go right through people shotguns do nothing and they turn around or charge me and then i am hit by everything they fire and im dead really making me want to quit

There are a lot of problems with this update, they need to change movement, nerf the medallions, and I don’t like the new scoops, they look like a different game, I miss the simplicity of old fort

They should make medallions a life steal where if you tag someone you get a slurp effect for however much you hit them for x2

ngl the movement takes a bit to get used to but it ain't all that bad , my only problem is the hurdle being activated by spacebar and only having 2 movement items that are hard to come by btw and holy hell that ballistic shield indoors is nuts

I’m getting use to the movement I like the new animations and all but my main issue is just the running fwd.. and cuz of the new movement the camera can be kinda weird.. it just need to be tweaked just a tad bit.. guns are very powerful… but they are ok thus far.. main issue is just the movement running fwd.. even if stamina replenishes quicker in needs to take a bit longer to spend… editing feels a bit better in my opinion.. it just the run edit that is slower.. I know pro players don’t really like this..

I wish epic just kept the game simple or at the very least introduced all the new stuff as the season went on because I hate having to spend the first week or 2 just learning how things work

I really enjoy everything about the new chapter besides the movement. I’m a little in between with the medallions but they’re growing on me. The movement needs to change, I don’t know what epic was thinking when they did that

When I first played C5, i thought there was some problem with my keybind. I wasn't jogging or the movement felt really off, and I had to go into settings multiple time to check. Now I know..

Haven’t seen anyone speak about this is the grappler, got a bug a few times where I’d grapple in try to switch weapon and it wouldn’t let me switch then got stuck in grapple animation causing me to die. Seemed to be if you try to switch and shoot fast it gets stuck

I like the chapter though I do miss the augments. I am glad the medallions don't take up an active inventory slot but they do seem like they can be OP when you get multiple Maybe they should do different things. Wouldn't mind having more stamina. Personally I'd rather just have passive healing as a basic ability (Though not as quick and with a little timer before it begins after being hit.) On another note, it would be cool if we could customize the horn for vehicles.

I don't mind the Movement, I just think Guns do wayyyy too much damage.

Increased fire rate, increased bullet travel and a couple more could be interesting ones for the medallions.

That one location with the giant building, mixed with new parkour makes me feel like assassins creed

I adapt real quick to alot of stuff si my first day playing the new season movement was so weird but next day i already got used to it

A good way to nerf the medallions without gutting them is making them regenerate less shield while in combat, making them less effective in tense situations.

When I play the medallions are easy to counter. I mainly play duos,trios and squads so medallions don’t really matter unless the entire team has one. They don’t need to be nerfed as in those modes you can use it as a team healing item for when your teammate needs shield. If you know how to hit headshots with the sniper then the medallions don’t help you

For competitive there's actually a little mansion on an island near where you landed that is crazy it has a reboot van launch pad vault and enough loot for like 3-4 players

i like chapter 5 but like you said the movement is slow and I want to have 999 as the max builds again

As a fencer, the fencer skin kinda bothers me. You have your blade in the right hand, but the extra protective gear on the left side. It should be on the right side, as the Character would be facing an opponent with their right side in a fencing match.

I think chap 5 is too complicated but the medalions are sick

The movment does not even affect controller players and the medallions spice some things up , like tiny little status symbols but with the medalions thy should add different powers for each of them, and if you have like 3 or 4 more you can craft it into a crown so you can get a crown win if you dont have one, thats cool.

I think people underestimate the downsides of having the medallions, first of all the bosses are really hard to kill iwthout good loot, and they leave you exposed to a third party. As you can see in this video, people will hunt you down if you have a medallion so that's also a downside. My main issues are the slower movement, storm which shrinks much faster than it used to (circles are smaller) and I would also like there to be more mod stations and for them to show up on the map like the upgrade stations used to.

It's a beautiful update however it is considerably less noob friendly, which sucks for people who play with casual family or friends. .

The movement feels so akward I dont like in in fights or traveling but other than that I like the season but I hated it when I first tried it it just takes getting used to with this many new things at once

They need to change the Medallions to be like over shield, healing you after a time of no incoming damage.

I have played only 2 full games,and 3 games i died right away,but i can already say,its a really good new chapter,i think fortnite is going in the right direction,it kind of tries to be like other shooters but shooters are very similar to eachother anyways

I don't care about the movement. The biggest problem I have is how fast the storm closes in. It's virtually impossible to keep from getting caught in it.

You are my all time favorite Sypher. I just want to say, this game is too much work to win. I work everyday and do not have time to live on Fortnite like basement dwellers. The running is terrible in this Chapter 5. You get hit, and then when you try to duck, you can't sprint to hide behind anything, because the run meter takes ten years to reboot. The names on the guns are totally confusing, unless you live on Fortnite and write down their too long to read names. I got a Gopher Poofer Slanted One Eyed Hammer Trotting Sniper Shotgun. Oh, let me try to remember the last best gun I had. Oh yeah, The Ram Hammer and Nails Too Slow to load Python Scaled Alligator Scoped Pistol. Incredible Epic. I think I am stopping play until these are fixed. I might as well find a new game to like. Player since 3rd Season, not bad but not great player. You are awesome Sypher!!

Multiple fixes can come in play. 1. Make it to where they can't stack. 2. Have each medallion offer different abilities so they actually differ from one another. 3. The shield needs to be regenerated slower. 4. Have them take an item slot. If they do one of these four the medallions will be 100x more balanced.

The movement isn’t a problem. You guys are the problem. Any time something new comes out the whole community cries for a week then all of a sudden everybody’s like “omg this ain’t bad”

I think there are 2 solutions to the medallions 1. (The easiest) Make all medallions have different perks, where only one of them has the shield regen perk (also make it like 5 shield/sec) 2. Make it so that the healing only occurs after 5 - 7 seconds of not taking damage, excluding fall damage, storm damage and self inflicted damage overall. Also make it so that the medallions can heal only a specific amount after a specific time, e.x. the medallions can only heal up to 65 shields or till you're full shields with a recharge of 35 - 60 seconds But thats just my take on it. Hopefully my english wasn't too bad. P.S revert movement back P.P.S change the modification system
