Okay all! I had this problem, read all the articles, watched all the videos, even contacted Epic Games twice and nothing worked. Until after all it was just I had "Mute game voice chats" - setting on (I didn't even know there was one). It was not in the regular settings as I checked all of those. Hold PS - button, then search voice/devices and there you have the option to mute game voice chats. Take off that and you should be just fine.

I am still facing the same problem... I can hear my friends in Party chat but in game chat neither I can hear them nor talk to them (I am on PS4 btw and this is Fortnite season 6)
As I faced this problem and went through SEVERAL ways to fix it, I have a couple of suggestions. The one that was my problem, was that I had game voice chats muted on my console. Hold PS button, there search "Voice/devices" and there you have the option to mute game chats. If you have muted, take it off and it should work. Also some other things that could be the problem, is if you are in a PS party, you should prioritize in game voice chat over party chat and leave the ps party. Then of course you should check the in game settings. I heard that blocking mature talk - setting could cause that voice chat is not working.
Idk if you solved this already, but my problem (that I used HOURS AND HOURS on solving only to find out how simple the solution was) was that I had muted in game voice chats on my ps. You should hold PS- button, then search voice/devices and then if you have muted, take it off and it should work. I have several other solutions as I went through MANY, so if this doesn't work just ask 😂
I literally did everything you said I even literally sit here through the whole video and watched it and it’s like nothing is working I try to test it out and went in a private server and it still did not work I even tried to invite most of my friends but they did not even come but when I try speaking into my mic I couldn’t even hear my own self
I can't talk with my headphones. Everything is good from your video. When I go to settings- then controller, the Volume Controller ( Speaker for Controller) is not working. Its not white and can't be adjusted. Do you know how I can fixed this? My squad wants me to fixed this ASAP! SOS!
Guys I have a problem where my game just kicks me from the party but it doesn’t tell me and everyone in my friends list is offline and I can’t talk to my friends and they hear me so I have to restart my WiFi and it gets very annoying sometimes
hello just wanted to say something i just bought two new headsets one for me and one for my little brother but i cant talk on fortnite with it but he can with his and so i'm like damn mines busted but i was like imma try mine on his console so i did and it worked but nothings working i just want help.
I tried this and I still can’t get the mic to work. When I adjust mic settings I can hear myself on mic but when I’m a game I can’t talk to people and I can’t hear them through my headset

Can anyone help me my game chat doesn't work like it does but for them my voise is fully laggy + I cant also ear them there voice is also laggy for me any help pls
