Fortnite didn't ruin gaming. Fortnite was simply more innovative and other games simply haven't made a better alternative. Everyone just followed suit, thats not Fortnite's fault. It’s every other major game studios fault.
Exactly. It doesn't help that the people in charge of triple A studios, like activision and blizzard, don't really care about the game as a community standpoint, rather a business stand point. And i'm not saying Fortnite is perfect, but I just agree that yeah Fortnite didn't cause this and its just the fault of the people in charge at "said company" who don't give a shit about their game and just want money. That being said, the way that Fortnite is going now could be a bad thing, considering they've gotten rid of rarities, which just allows them to overcharge things since we can't justify price with corresponding rarity anymore. Still fortnite does happen to be in a much better state than other game studios at the moment.. (wayy to much said, probably didn't need to rant on lmao)
Other game developers keep pushing out stuff well before it's ready for release and well before the content to keep going is ready, because they want to capture lightning in a bottle with what Fortnite achieved. But as it goes on it's only going to be harder and harder and create bigger and bigger losses when the games inevitably don't instantly print money
Finally someone who said it, Fortnite didn't Ruin the gaming industry, (Sellout Companys) Ruined the industry by copying the battle pass system instead of trying to be creative (in General) and inventing something new.
Also the ones at chapter 2 and after are the best. Xp makes it so much better and easier to level up. Chapter 1 did have a bit more value at the beginning with 2 skins at tier 1 but chapter 1 was the worst battle pass system in fortnite due to battle stars being more of a pain
while fortnite indeed has one of the best BP systems now, helldivers 2 i think did it even better. every BP (at the moment) is still available for purchase, and, more importantly, you can find premium currency in game without spending money for more. you even get the main BP for free.

They are not even the same genre idk why it was a comparison. Probably because kids stopped playing Minecraft to play Fortnite in 2017-2018 and then they came back to it shortly like in 2020 after pewdiepie and dream

@@Abandoned-Account-L saxton hale disrespected voice actors with the horrible amateur fan voices, game fell of after tough break/meet your match, the casual servers are filled with bots, there won't be another update probably ever, the cosmetics ruined the unique art style and the game runs like shit. Also it's ironic because TF2 has gambling, OW2 does not. The complaints I have about OW2 is deceptive marketing and abusive pricing, but about TF2 I can still go on
Here’s the thing about good games… they shake the industry in a good way…. Minecraft since it’s realism has been booming although it’s not making headline all the time it’s still really fun and is always fresh, Fortnite will be the same way
What I find funny about people sayinf Fortnite doesnt give free stuff is evem the Battlepass can be obtain for free. They always regarded players who grind or judt play casually with the 309 free vbucks from the free pass, so if you just play the game you'll eventually will earn enough premium currency to get the premium pass. Just wanted to say this as it came to my head.
Also once you gain the free pass you will get enough vbucks to buy the next pass and have 550 extra vbucks wich you can use to buy emotes or even skins if you grind a lil longer

the guy saying nothing in fortnite is free needs better spending habits. while the cosmetics sometimes look cool, end of the day, you dont need them to play the game. besides, like you mentioned there are a lot of opportunities for free items

There is this grudge of this Reddit meme back in 2020 of “FoRTnite BAd MiNcRaFt GoOd stILL” while both games aren’t bad I just hate when people glaze a meme and hate a game that was doing good and make people miss on collab skins
In my opinion, this whole question is a dumb debate over a simple dumb question with no clear answer: Is Fortnite at fault for potentially starting a trend of games and a specific monitization strategy, or is it the other companies fault for trying to chase its success and making it into an official trend? It's a question with a lot of nuance, and pointing fingers at one source towards an industry-wide trend of monitization strategies changing over time to this way when it's a convenient target is, to an extent, unfair. (That said Fortnite isn’t entirely blameless either). Again, nuance. Fun word.
Yeah we can’t blame fortnite as it’s that they set a high bar or did something the companies are copying. Same could be said for rocksteady as people judged suicide squad to the Arkham games and there in a pit where they’ll be criticized if they try something new
The rarity system being removed for cosmetics is a fine change I think, I only really hate that it messes with organization of the locker, though I think that has more to do with the current UI more than anything.
I love how that one guy said nothings free when they literally give free cosmetics every now and then, you get some items from the battle pass free, and if you’re patient enough you can get enough in game currency to buy the battle pass free of charge, and if you’re even more patient you can get enough in game currency to get every battle pass for free and buy stuff from the item shop. So yeah nothing in this game is free is just straight up wrong
increased prices is only referring to the avatar collab, and collab prices are extremely inconsistent as for rarities being removed, it barely has an effect besides changing locker order, epic said that the rarity removal wont affect prices people who say that epic is going to increase prices of skins are just being pessimistic and assuming stupid things
I agree with this video and I would love to add some stuff into it: 1) TF2 and CSGO where ones of the first games that introduced loot boxes, yet i Don't see many people hating on those games as much 2) when a formula is successful, it's inevitable that other companies would use it to make profit, not understanding why it worked in the first place 3) by that logic, sherk is bad because it influence modern western animated movie with adult humor, satire, pop culture reference and celebrity casting
i think tf2 and csgo lootboxes were less controversial cuz people could resell their items in the community market place for good money. Making people just buy keys and crates to gain profit and actually gamble
