I've been wheelchair bound for 33 years and seeing these videos inspires me. Thanks Allen for your example of hard work. God has blessed you. Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” These comforting words can apply to all of us as we seek to live a good life and overcome our own unique challenges.

@@mtnfortresslabs You Are An Awesome Guy!! You aren't afraid of work to get you want you want or need, I SO wish I could Meet you some day ❤ love & hugs from Indiana ❤
I'm with you on your definition of "treasure" - if the sand and river stones are usable for tons of concreting work - that's a massive win right there! Perhaps the seam might even come out somewhere near where the Sany is parked? Keep up the amazing work Alan! Wizard stuff!
Water smoothed rock.....interesting, especially on top of a mountain! At some point in geological history this must have been a drastically different landscape with a river that filled up a pocket in the bedrock. If that is the case, then could it be assumed that there might be gold mixed in with that material? Deposited at the same time the sand/rock was? Have you ever tried panning a bit of it?
Most people are probably thinking that's bullshit isn't treasure but if you have ever had to buy any type of aggregate you will know how expensive that it is and then you have to have it delivered extra cost especially if your place is miles away from the town this is truly a gift for this man God is good, I own a very small excavation business 2 man operation father and son so I know how much of a gift that this stone mix is good job brother keep on digging if I lived closer to you I would definitely love to come be a part of your build but I live in Maryland so it's just a little farther away good luck and God bless
I miss being able to work my butt off! At 72 yr old it’s just ain’t possible to work that hard anymore. So not much gets done at My mountain fortress, which ain’t nothing like this one! You truly have a fortress!
Hi Allen, your (#1) Lake Mead Fan here - haha! It was great to see you in person. Please keep up the good work. Your drive to work is incredible and what you are able to accomplish is "wizard" inspiring. I am a marketing professional so if you ever want any help, please give me a shout-out. I would be honored to support your cause and channel in any way I can.
@@mtnfortresslabs Haha, YUP! That was me, the crazy lady waving from the dock ;-) But seriously, willing to volunteer with marketing, social media, video editing, etc. if you ever need it. LOVE your work and your channel!
Animals pass knowledge . . . .by God's design . . . . . i love nature, it reminds me of how little i know . . . .i love your videos, and a lot of respect to you sir for having time to acknowledge animal life and God the Creator.
Your a mad man ! I thought I’m crazy for digging a cave by hand in my granite hillside (30 feet in so far , w/ 1 room . But your on another level brotha , I love people with a dream & the passion to do what most people wouldn’t even consider. No laziness for sure .
I think your newly found treasure might be hiding something that you may not have expected to find. You might want to pan out some of what you pulled out of that seam. With river rock, gravel, and sand all being present in the same spot, and a deep hole that could have been a waterfall millions of years ago, you just might find some gold or other precious finds. There's probably a very good reason that someone left you with those old ore carts and tracks.
Alan your a hard working great guy. Keep up the good work hope everything works out great for you. Buy the way love what yoy have done building the mountain fortress. Best of luck bro keep it up!!
This project is so fucking cool Alan. Let's hope the bunker part doesn't actually need to be used anytime soon what with WW3 on the horizon it seems. Peace, stay safe doing what you do and don't stop; it's amazing
Thank God you all were able to move that boat....That was his home, all he has, they were going to cut up his boat if not move the next day.....you all are HEROES, working for God....Very kool fine, all that sand...Your Fortress is coming along nicely.....You sure do have a bunch of good guys to work with......Be safe Alan.............JB..
You're absolutely right Alan, GOD is good. When one tries to live and do right, its pretty awesome how HE always manages to ease our burdens. Glad tobsee you pushing it forward when life is at its heaviest, great friends like Dave and the gang are priceless in far more ways than one. You and the guy's Alan, you definitely got this no worries. 🇺🇲💪🙏✌️
This is my first time watching your videos and I gotta say you stand on your own making video content. Thanks for sharing your life and projects with the world.
have to say that looking at what your mountain is comprised of i'm pretty sure you could build a mini set up to filter your aggregate to various sized stone chippings and do all sorts with it, ie use on the mountain track, perhaps just adding cement to use as concrete - will be cool
I have actually used both styles of those mine muck skips you showed towards the end of this video. You sure have a smorgasbord of odd and varied equipment. Keep on building Alan.
I've seen mine exploring videos where people were in placer mines...ancient river bottoms...chasing gold. You might want to try looking for gold in that pocket. Interesting video. Keep on keeping on!👍👍
Took the words out of my mouth too! I'm wondering HOW river gravel got there too. The only 2 options I can think of both seem pretty unlikely. Either the old miners carted it up for some reason, that would be a hell of a job or, it was a river bed at some point in the distant past, both seem very unlikely but it has to be one, either way, just straight cement and yeah, treasure alright. Possibly double treasure if it's carrying gold too.
Can’t help but comment every time I see a fortress video. What an amazing place you’ve been blessed with Allan! Still hoping for a video explaining more about it and how you came to getting it. You’re one hard working dude! Good to see the channel growing like it is 👍🏼
On the Heavy D Sparks channel there's a tour video with Alan. Plus today they posted the cleanup after Alan's shop fire video. Poor Alan. He's lost a lot of family personal items plus tools. Heavy D Sparks trucks to the rescue.
That gravel is obviously part of an old river channel. I'm wondering if it was a plunge pool beneath a water fall in the past. Guessing not due to the lack of larger boulders, but either way that bedrock has clearly been uplifted and faulted so that was not the top of a mountain in the past. You can see the upturned beds in the shots of the mountain taken from a distance. They look like spines running along the center areas of some of the shots. Materials up there are a treasure! Good work!
"I sorta underestimated the amount of work I had to do". Haha, I love you man, you're such a hard worker. Keep it up with all the awesome things you do!
Alan, I saw a video where someone used gravel inside the center block to save on concrete costs and then poured concrete over the gravel inside the center block. Interesting video. Looking great! The Lake Recovery videos were awesome. Ml, blessings.
What about constructing a screw-like digger to get the sand/gravel material out of the hole, and deposit it in a more convenient pile? Something similar to an Archimedes' screw, but instead of being for liquids it's for solids. At least it could be worth a try.
I live up in the mountains in Canada Lakefront it's a gorgeous place and I can totally understand why you put so much effort to making a home where you made it the views are amazing
Allen, this looks like a prehistoric sinkhole, eventually filled with a river gravel. If it indeed was carved out by a river flow, than it's shape would be rounded and often quite deep. So, of exploring, you would need to make sure that you gradually remove all grounded fill and get to a harder exterior to avoid a catastrophic collapse. All your activity there is literally breathtaking.
Man Alan you are non stop, its very Impressive how much you have done by yourself. Its a great project you have going on,i love it and you have one Hell of a View.
I love those videos. Very inspiring for me, as I'm struggling with little works, compared to yours. Thanks to you I'm putting myself to work, just little steps. Thank you :)
I can relate to your comment. I'm so stiff and sore and stove up from injuries and multiple surgeries, that over the last few years I've let some things go. But now I'm trying super hard to push myself to get things done, especially after recognizing how other men are really getting after it, and doing the things! I got very depressed and self-loathing, just getting into worse and worse shape... so here we go, Boogity Boogity Boogity,..lets get her done!! Lol Alan is a hard working inspiration for me... glad to be let into his small slice of heaven on Earth
My father was a lot like you. He built our home before me. He was a scientist and I learned to be super resourceful from him and I'm thankful for that. This guy Alan is fascinating and needs a whole pile of kids to learn from him, learn his work ethic and help the guy out some. I will be watching to see how this all comes together.
the dosser recovery was cool , big millatery vehicles that was sick ,. im wishing you success looks between yt and working recovery your going to get your fortress finished and have the best place in the world
It might be worth taking a couple minutes and panning some of that gravel out looks like washed river gravel to me. You might have found a nice placer deposit. Now that would be real treasure 🙂
Not double trouble but possibly double treasure alright. We already know there IS gold bearing deposits around there so it's almost guaranteed there will be at least some gold, the only question is whether there's enough to warrant setting up a decent sluice setup to run it all through before forever sealing possibly good quantities of gold in concrete. Definitely worth putting random patches through a pan to see what's hiding in amongst all that. I'm still blown away that he'd find river gravel way up there.
You need a dog Al, preferably a decent sized one that is big enough to defend itself from whatever predators could be around. They are great company and if he/she sleeps outside will warn you of anybody sneaking around at night, more so now you've got a clear and much better track up to there.
I'm happy to see you found some material that you can use from your property. I have been wondering why you have not been using more from the land. Like building with the rock. There is definitely a lot of it. Lot's to do and there is no job that can't be done, if only you have the right tools. It's one of those Jobs that you wonder if you will get it done before the body gives out. Slow going when you do it all alone though. I'm one of those lone doers myself. Thinking it would be nice to have help the older I get. Anyway, take care. 💪💪💪💪🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Ing FOR YOU AND YOURS FROM COLORADO ❤️
you can totally change the landscape of that place by planting trees, start now and in a few years you will have a much more picturesque place, investigate what permaculture is
Hi Alan, HEAVY D subscriber, here, watched as they came to help you, always liked you👍, for that reason and what you are doing, lm going to follow your progress. I too believe that you have a treasure❕it could be a spectacular find, even more so than you think 🤔, please screen some of it in water. I would love that to be true for you, you got gusto. All the best to you. It will be nice to see all the block work finished up. Then onto a new block shop. I wish the best. 👌🏻✌🏻🧡 🌤 🇨🇦 👨🦽 😎.
If this happened to me, I'd likely break out the gold pan, and try panning some of that stuff. River rock and sand is a great place to find placer gold.
As for checking for gold think of silver and anything that will make a buck! You don't need ALL of the bucks but a pile or two would help! Have you considered thinning your truck collection a little? I'm looking for a 1964 to 66 chevy or GMC truck c10 c20 or a long wheelbase c30 or even a c40. Thanks for your time and videos. Best regards from Bob Ordewald Staunton Virginia
Congratulations! That will save you some coin and hauling for Sure! It is a precious treasure indeed. Whenever God provides what you need, that is a treasure! he certainly did not ignore your kindness to that old man and others. :)
I love imagining where that river used to flow and how its deposit ended up top a mountain, or maybe it used to be where the water washed too as snow melted up there who knows!
Super awesome 👏 God is Gracious!! God bless you and Dave sparks and the whole diesel family. Cool find and awesome update! Get that much needed rest and see you on the next one ☝️👍
With all the large rocks can they be used for retaining walls and structure in your plan?. Takes little Portland cement and sand between stones and will outlast concrete blocks. I have built fireplaces , walls etc. that I know are as good as new 60 years later. I have two fireplaces in my house out of filed stones which have chimneys over 25 feet tall. Enjoy your project and would be nice to have a sketch of your final build. Thanks for sharing your dream.
So you're thinking of tunnels underground? Would all that material hold itself up and not collapse?? Scary stuff there. P.s. i realize that this is way before the fire that took place surely you have other things happening in your life out there. You say that you have a Patreon channel as well?
Heck yeah, treasure... even asides from the theorizing that there's placer gold in that alluvium, with the distance you've got to haul it and the difficulty up the mountain you're probably paying more than $40 a cubic yard just for sand.
Figured I'd come subscribe really like what you're doing on your Mountain that's awesome and I think you're an awesome part of Dave's team keep up the good work man you're doing great
Dave sparks, please have a t-shirt made up for Alan and the mountain fortress, "I am being told in no uncertain terms that I'm not welcomed" as a quote on the back. 11:10.
