Because Reggaes roots come from Jamaica. So anything outside Jamaica doesn’t seem to be authentic to me. This music is nice but it’s not true reggae.

Marla Salas Bob is NOT the FATHER of reggae music. Not taking away anything from his greatness, but there are others that came before him. Bob Marley and the Wailers were essentially a super-group, way before their time. They helped take the music to new heights internationally and Robert Nesta Marley’s racial makeup had a lot to do with their promotion. Bunny Wailer, the late, great Peter Tosh and the I-Threes, (Rita Marley, Judy Mowatt & Marcia Griffiths) all have held their own as solo artists.
