Don't know what it is, but I LOVE the styling on this generation F-150. Design has aged very well imo

3:07 we wanted that but sadly Ford turned the lightning into a generic truck with an electric motor. Not that I got a problem with an EV F150, I just got a problem that they used the lightning name for that instead of saving it for a 2 door F150 with a detuned GT500 v8.

I know the bed flare generation of the F-150 was controversial in its design. Some loved it, some hated it. For me, it’s the best looking Gen of F-150.

I don’t know why, but this truck reminds me a little bit of the Mercedes-Benz X-Class when they added it to FH4 (but of course the F-150 is 10x better than the X-Class)

My buddy has a Lightening, as wheel as a 2V Mustang GT. With an exhaust, intake and a tune, they are pretty quick. In person, on the road, they are really impressive for a 20 year old truck.

Found that the 4-speed is only available when the Lightning has the AWD conversion

There was going to be a sister to the lightening called the ford thunder which would be almost the same platform the expedition but svt came up with that idea to late at the time the expedition was getting a face lift the next year so svt scrapped the thunder

The fact that he did a personal best and finished with 69 mph is just perfect

Now we just need the SRT 10. Also this thing with a non-rediculous build is insane. Even in the top of A class it's insanely gripy, and fast.

Just because your wheels are spinning and you're at redline doesn't mean you should upshift. You will end up shifting early and lose tons of valuable time.

Actually Nick the F-150 Lightning was not built to go head to head with the GMC Syclone or the Typhoon. Those vehicles were no longer being produced when the first generation Lightning came out. The Lightning was meant to go head to head with the Chevrolet 454SS truck that had came out. The Lightning was Ford's answer to the high performance truck market of that time.

03 f150s are definitely the most fun of the f family especially in winter

You need to use the Auto Union Type D . That will drift whatever you do to it

The lightning was more of a competitor for the 1990-1993 Chevrolet 454 SS truck. I’m honestly amazed that truck hasn’t been in forza they’re really cool.

I got this truck already and it's a really good truck

The Raptor was made to replace the Lightning. When the new generation 2004 F150 was made, a SVT Lightning Concept truck was made, but was deemed unreasonable to make (brakes, tires, and more had to be way larger to compensate for the larger and heavier truck). As a on-road street truck was out of question as a production vehicle, the next logical move was to create an off road successor where the weight was not really as big a deal. That’s why they weren’t sold together, and especially that the Raptor is quite popular and a street truck nowadays that lacks towing ability and cargo capacity for the sake of being said street truck would sell like the Chevy SS and the Dodge Viper, cars that were good and appreciated by enthusiasts, but no one bought

I mean I count at least a dozen times (and it's probably more) that he's been floored that a new car can actually drift, or that he's gotten yet another new personal best for that matter

Really cool vid lol buuut, everyone seems to still be having fun on drift zones, even though these same people played the game back when the way scores counted were totally bugged. I still have stupid unrealistic pre-series 2 drift scores… is there any way I can remove that so I can -actually- compete with my buds? Then again, we are all in the same boat I guess lmao. I got 1,180,600+ on the Cara Este drift zone in the Shelby AC cobra recently, but it’s still nowhere near my pre-series 2 score.
