I really like the feeling of grip on the cars, and the dynamic weather. Some strange track and car omissions bother me, but I'm sure they will be added. Also, I actually enjoy multiplayer, which I don't normally play, but I'd like a bit more customization in my races. So far, I haven't found a way to make a public online race without the driving line or certain assists.

I'm not normally one to take to comments to chew someone out, but this is one of the laziest, most lopsided reviews I've ever seen. Since this is a huge channel, you're liable to mislead a metric ton of people. You cut between a small handful of clips exclusively taken from the very beginning of the game, give it a glow-up, then conclude by saying that 'there's not much more to talk about unless you're a diehard'. No. There's a LOT more you COULD have chosen to talk about. You could actually inform your viewers that Microsoft are using them as glorified beta testers, since there are bugs and crashes around every corner. You could tell them that there are NO race car events AT ALL in the single player career mode at present. NONE. It's exclusively road cars, so that the devs can get you grinding out this car level system, clearly designed to pad out player retention figures, so that the execs can pat themselves on the back at the next slew of boardroom meetings. How about that the AI is a complete travesty? Completely unable to race one another or the player in tight quarters, when they're not busy playing bumper cars and flying off the track, or randomly slamming their brakes in the middle of the race track. You could talk about the CLEARLY recycled (inaccurate) early Forza car models that have been dumped into this game - demonstrating that the 'built from the ground up' tag line the developers were using up until release was complete BS. How about that the force feedback experience on wheel is utterly tragic, until the player gets a degree in mechanical engineering and rejigs everything from the ground up? How about that close racing from interior views is nearly impossible, since there's no radar and the proximity arrows are useless? That's fine, chase cam with gamepad is the only thing that matters, right? You could talk about the predatory nature of the 'early play' release, launch day DLCs, or utter credit and XP grind this game is. As if they pivoted from creating a mobile game to mainline console midway through development. You could mention that the replay and photo modes are recycled travesties. The bipolar graphics combining flat textures and ancient models with ray tracing to try to pass as 'next gen', leading to hugely variable visual fidelity depending on time and weather. There are a metric TON of things you could've fleshed out in this 'just a racing game'. You could've told your viewers that Microsoft released an UNFINISHED game, and are charging full price for it, but instead you opted to push out a half-baked glow up and hoped that nobody would dive deep enough to notice. I understand that not everybody is into the racing space, and if that's you, there's nothing wrong with that. But just like I'll never review Farming Simulator since I don't know the first thing about farming, you could have just given this a miss - you don't have to review things you clearly don't care about.

the fact that he said " for those who don't know these games are completely separate from the forza horizon games" shows that the new generation has officially taken over gaming. anyway i always like the original track-oriented games anyway. horizon is fantastic for displaying other types of racing and really doing some fun things. forza motorsport will always have my heart.

Wasn't sold at first, but after having played the game a bit more, I'm really liking it. I think it was smart to scale things down. Graphics seemed questionable at first, but I've started to appreciate how good it actually looks. This game is already really good , and it should be a good platform in which to expand upon.

As a long time Forza Motorsport fan this new one is really good. Couple of little quirks but the look and feel are excellent.

Been a long time coming... I've been around since the very first game on the OG Xbox. Horizon 4 and 5 have both been kind of disappointing to me. More or less just decently fun sandbox games, but the toning and progression of those games burnt me out fast. I've been itching to get back into a more serious "climb the ranks with your car" type of game. I hope this holds up over time and I'll definitely be playing with it being on Game Pass PC.

No mention of NO auction site. Im sure that missing feature that is in alot of the forza games has upset a few people. I must admit, I miss it.

It’s great if you love cars and want something with a little more flair than GT7. Not saying one’s better than the other. They’re just different. GT7 is really all about the cars and racing, not much fluff. Forza feels like it’s 80/20 sim racer/arcade racer. It has a better sense of speed and the sound design is top notch. But when it comes to actually learning how to race, GT7 does a better job teaching how and why. Forza has a lot of cool assists like the driving line, but there’s a lot more to it than that. If you’ve ever got all gold in GT’s license tests you know what I mean.

Ive owned every forza title since OG xbox and have been playing this last few days. Love the upgrade system and the online multiplayer is awesome

Most modes are online only, for me that’s a deal breaker.

The amount of grinding is ridiculous in my opinion. You would think they would’ve learned from gran turismo 7 mistake with the low payouts and pay for credits to upgrade/ buy cars

I have pre-ordered every Forza game since FM5, and I am a little hesitant to get this one because FM7 kind of burned me, I’m very happy to see this in my notifications

So the whole car points system is a pain but also something the fans wanted. We wanted more of a grind, but T10 took it a bit far lol. I did a video of this on my channel explaining it in a bit more detail, however I think T10 need to re-adjust the car points/leveling system to just be related to each car Brand, and not every car! Apart from that, its a fantastic racing game.

I appreciate your take on the progression system. Made me understand it better. A lot of times I zone out and just focus on winning. Horizon makes you try for points. So I like they brought that idea over better now

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but this before you buy really missed the mark! You fail to mention that more then half of the features from 7 are missing, and the game has a plethora of issues. For anyone thinking about getting this game please take the time to watch some videos from other creators before you purchase.

They really went with CP as an acronym? Bold choice considering what CP is more known for.

With the assist you can make it so your car will drive itself except the gas so you just need to tape the gas and set the track to max laps

I played the Horizon game and I really enjoyed it and the only thing I really wanted in that game was actual tracks to race on so of course this game is totally for me. I'm pumped for this one and its good to see people enjoying the game so far. Haven't picked it up yet but soon!

As someone who's hooked on F1 and setting lap times around the tracks and also dabbled in Assetto and rFactor 2, I've been waiting on this game for more chilled but still good game. Loved Horizon 4 and 5 so excited to dive into my first Motorsport title from these guys today!

I'm not a big racing games fan, But i was once, Gran turismo 3 was my favorite racing game, Nothing actually come after give me the same sensation, i tried them all, Gran turismo 4 and 5..etc, It just something special about GT3.

Love what they have done with the multiplayer. Adding penalties really weeds out the reckless driving

Disappointed Bathurst is missing along with some of the classic Holden and Fords that were in Fm7, maybe they intend to make them a purchase later but not too hopeful. The rest is really nice.

I really am liking the game so far! Sure the car leveling system seems a little weird but truly you don’t learn a car in a day. That system is in place to master a car more than customize. I just wish they had drifting in the multiplayer list!

good review. my graphics look a bit more blurry than yours despite 100% resolution with ultra dynamic quality (cause there's no off button). not sure how to fix it. Also runs on like 60fps without raytracing on a 3070ti, where f12023 runs on like 150fps, not sure why.

How would you compare gt7? I found this last literation with always online and at first expensive cars and many forced doubles was disappointing regardless of solid sim racing it left something to be desired. It was improved with feedback thankfully and improved nonetheless. But I felt the sim racing itself was above par anything else ever created.

Zero mentions on LOADS of bugs (Save bug, upgrade bug, collision bug, graphic bugs, etc) and still not fixed on the latest update. Kinda wonder, is it just lottery at this point or...?

Why are people starting to call Tracks on racing games Maps? This isn’t CoD this is Racing. The game looks great. Only I’m worried about is the car leveling system.

The progression reminds me of games with guns where you upgrade the more you use a gun. I agree they need to keep the progression per car. I like to have a 4 WD and rear wheel version of some cars. Plus maybe a Category A and S setup ready to go. This means I need to level up 2 cars or switch setups before racing :(

To be honest i like the idea of earning points for upgrades for cars. But the current system is not good. They could remove the unlocking of parts, but keep the points system. You would still need to do races with the car to get the points but then you can just choose whatever upgrade you want with the points you have. Points could also be earned by any car from the manufacturer/class and be spent in the same categories instead of just one specific car.

I don't normally play racing sim games. The only type of racing games I'll play are arcade. Love NFS, Forza Horizon, Burnout, Split Second, etc. But I have been wanting to try out a more sim like racer just to see if I'll like it. I'm glad that this is on Game Pass because I can try it out without having to pay full price for it.

Why did we never get a The Crew motorfest before you buy?

I play ACC, AC and rF2 on a daily basis but I'm skipping this one. I'd have fun with it for a few hours tops. Nothing like the thousands of hours of more of the realistic sims that are out now. Plus, WRC, AC2, Le Mans Ultimate and new ACC content are on the way.

Im really tired of game makers having limited graphics options for consoles like why can't i just choose 4k 60, 1440 90, 1080 120 with a togle so you can choose rt or hdr

The whole level up thing is indeed different but i feel like unlocking everything feels very need for speed kinda... Not a fan... Need to be online for a single player campaign too? That really sucks lol

I always went in the open drift lobbies in the last game but they just completely discontinued that for this game it’s disappointing cause that’s all I was doing in forza

I've never been a racing game guy before but I picked up FH5 for some variety and it's pretty fun. Having to unlock upgrades for every single car you get does sound ridiculous though. I probably won't ever get around to this anyway as I'm pretty set on checking out GT7 in VR at some point this gen and I doubt I'll need more racing than that. But the environments do look amazing.

what i hate about the car progression is you have to GRIND each car. as opposed to buying parts with MONEY like you do IRL. though sometimes i wish i unlocked parts for my IRL car by driving it... lol

Definitely released 2 early, many problems but still good. An example of this is maple valley in the fog, cars in rear view look like they’re floating on mist.

I'm a die hard Forza fan. I've been there since the begining. I like to see car levels come back but taking away my tuning and upgrade power is absolutely ridiculous. They really messed up and I'm at the point that I'm done with the series. I'll just keep playing the old games that are actually good

The 'CarPG' aspect is a good idea, but I have one MAJOR qualm with it. Let me use those points how I want to. If my car is chronically understeering, let me adjust swaybars and camber right away. If I want to butcher everything by adding boost or a supercharger without platform enhancements, let me. For many of us that have experience w/ real driving, ie track days and/or actual racing, give us freedom. I like the aspect of having to EARN points using the car, but let me decide, FROM THE START, where I want to spend them. The fact EVERY car has the same progression is going to get old fast.

Will it run on steam deck? I would really appreciate a brief statement on steam deck compatibility (if applicable) for future before you buy titles.

Cars didn't have as much personality in previous games with how easy it was to obtain them and upgrade them. I feel like the new upgrade system will fix that with players actually spending time with a car, fine tuning it, making liveries ect.

My only real problem with the game is the AI.. impossible to do a complete clean lap when they are around 😂

I love Forza Horizon games. I have purchased a few of the motorsport games. I didn't rush in and buy the new one as I'd like to give it some time to see all of the reviews because Motorsport 7 didn't blow my hat off.

I feel confident that on or soon after launch microtransactions will hit the store front for accelertated and/or completely bypassing individual car progreesion.

They should have made progression tied to TYPES of cars and not each individual car.

I think it is a shame that many reviewers are glossing over this platform system. The game costs a lot of money if you don't play via Gamepass. It is a full-price game. So it should also offer enough content.

Still waiting for a car simulator with realistic car damage. Say you're an aggressive driver and all the body work and parts can be destroyed but as an option you also pick premium insurance so the cost is recouped? It'd be fun to have a demolition derby style to where your cars can go to just die or fix up a vehicle to dominate the derby circuits. End game fun would be demolition derby circuits but with F1s and super cars. 😅

This is unusual for Gameranx as they are usually really good at reviewing, but they have dropped the ball on this one. I've just come back from Failraces review and there is no mention here of the super short career mode that is currently available. No mention of waiting anything between a week and a month for a new event. No mention of time limited events meaning that you may miss out. No mention that you could buy a car and have no races to level it up in as it doesn't fit the requirements. All these things this new FM title does which are steps backwards in many ways and Gameranx just does not mention them. This is an outlier and out of the normal, but yes, poorly handled review. Sorry.

Love the new progression system, personally like the fact you have to level each one up, it means you xant just jump in a car and max it out in 2 minutes, you actually have to learn the vehicle.

So far I like the game and the upgrading system. I’m not too picky with racing simulators, as long as the feel of driving each car is perfectly realistic, everything else is secondary. I’m also a noob trying to learn more about cars in general (19 years old).

I miss Brands Hatch, there's a lot of content in this, but also a lot that's missing. Why the heck did they remove Free View when viewing your cars interior!

Ruined it with the level up system, most the fun was messing around with crap cars to see which can be made good, not gonna do that down in D class. Dumb arcadey idea not realistic- anyone with money can mod a car shouldn't have to do anything

It’s a huge letdown visually compared to the reveal. No fog, textures are bare, car models repurposed, no vfx like the fireworks shown or camera flashes from crowds, objects like cones and grass not present, and the lighting is horrible at times. I hate the progression system - at least make it count per manufacturer. Barebones and less fun “career” events. Been a long time Forza Motorsport fan and I uninstalled this from my series x after playing just around two hours. This is a bigger miss than Redfall tbh.

Just remember forwarding motorsport still isn't am actual sim like gran turismo and AC yeah it's more realistic than horizon but this is still a slightly arcade style drive

For me I just enjoy being able to drive any car available, but having to grind to get to that point is what usually kills it for me.

They down graded my subie 22b bro ! The max tire width profile is 265 now ! Wth ! It use to be 275 ,even upgrading the body parts like bumpers sideskirts and spoiler was limited to my damn 22b sti ! What a let down !

I personally don't feel how the "progression" system is love or hate. It is a game mechanic that is designed to waste your time. We didnt let it fly in Diablo 4, and it shouldnt be allowed here. The biggest thing to understand here is that increasing your cars PI by driving that car for a total of 3ish hours doesn't give you any real advantages because the game scales the drivatars PI to yours. This upgrade system is the only progression added to the game. There is almost no reason to do the Builders Cup as it is just a checklist of races to complete. Want to build a low tier car to participate in a builders cup race? Have fun driving it for a couple hours in freeplay before you can actually do what you want to do. What to build a sleeper drift car out of a E class? You know your in for 3 hours of E class fun first. If CXP contributed to an entire class of cars, it would be slightly more acceptable however i feel like this CXP thing is just drawing out the playtime of the same amount of content we got before.

Cant wait for it to release. My fanatec wheel is ready for the road.

Not a true racing game if it doesn't have Mount Panorama as a race track. They even had advertising for this game in the great Bathurst race today but don't even include this track. Crazy.
