Absolutely love your enhancements. So much clearer. I'd like to go through all of your videos and do this. Very exciting. Again, thank you for documenting these sites. There are as many as I thought there were. Native People were everywhere.

Alex, this was one of the most enjoyable independent travelogs and archaeological walks I have found on RU-vid. I admire you for gently handling these important artifacts and respecting the sites. You have earned my respect and my subscription to your channel. Hope to see more of your videos.

MY Great great great Grandfather Bill CHico was From Little lake he was koso or Panimint shoshone. For five centuries, North Americans have been fascinated and intrigued by stories of the magnificent Aztec Empire. This extensive Mesoamerican Empire was in its ascendancy during the late Fifteenth and early Sixteenth Centuries. The Aztec Empire of 1519 was the most powerful Mesoamerican kingdom of all time. This multi-ethnic, multi-lingual realm stretched for more than 80,000 square miles through many parts of what are now central and southern Mexico. This enormous empire reached from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf coast and from central Mexico to the present-day Republic of Guatemala. Fifteen million people, living in thirty-eight provinces and residing in 489 communities, paid tribute to the Emperor Moctezuma II. However, by the time that Hernán Cortés and his band of Spanish mercenaries arrived on the Gulf Coast of Veracruz in 1519, omens of impending doom had begun to haunt Emperor Moctezuma II and his advisors in their capital city, Tenochtitlán. With an incredible coalition of indigenous forces, Cortés and his lieutenants were able to bring about the fall of one of the greatest indigenous American empires in only two years. The Empire that the Aztecs amassed makes them unique among Amerindian peoples. But, in at least one respect, they are far from unique. The Aztecs and other Náhuatl-speaking indigenous peoples of Mexico all belong to the Uto-Aztecan Linguistic Group. Spoken in many regions of the western US and Mexico, the Uto-Aztecan tongues include a wide range of languages, stretching from Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming all the way down to El Salvador in Central America. And the Aztecs represent only a small - but significant - part of this linguistic group. While the Aztecs of the Sixteenth Century lived in the south central part of the present-day Mexican Republic, a wide scattering of peoples who presently live in the United States could probably be described as “distant cousins” to the Aztecs. If you belong to the Shoshone, Ute, Paiute, or Gabrielino Indians, you may very well share common roots with the famous Aztecs of central Mexico.

Wow! Thanks for sharing!!! I don’t have anyone to teach me the kinds of things you know. My kids and I went to fossil falls today to find petroglyphs. We did find one. We are careful to make sure we don’t disturb them. Really appreciate you explaining what the symbols mean. Special thanks from Tehachapi!

I totally enjoy your treks into the west. This site is one I plan to follow your foot steps. I can't say enough about the enjoyment I get and the beauty of the west rocky hills and such. About the petroglyphs. I really hate to rain on this but we all should be open to learning new things even if it is different that what we have believed in the past. That how I got where I am today. Dang I hate to do this but I must for the sake of progress. Most of the petroglyphs you are seeing are done to pass on to the future generations what they say in the sky. A electrical plasma discharge event took place during there time that scarred the west and places all around the word. The man figure you see often is knows as the squatting man. It's likeness is seen in the sky as plasma glows and the thickest parts glow more on the edges leaving the patters you find on the rocks. Notice they draw or carve them on mostly blackened rock. This is electrically scorched as such. To much to go into here. I know you will find this information a valuable tool for you next online videos. Go to,... thunderbolts.info for the life lesson. Be well and safe my friend.

Alex, Great job with this. I have previously been and will be passing by Fossil Falls again soon and will be stopping by to check out these petroglyphs. Where are these in relation to Fossil Falls? How would I get to these? Thx

Have you ever been to the Coso hot springs? Unfortunately they happen to fall within the China Lake naval weapons range but they are very important to the Coso and Paiute people of today.

Coso Hot Springs Resort was closed long ago. The water there has an arsenic content. Use Google satellite and see all the work the Navy Base has put into infrastructure pumping up that hot water.

Marcia, thanks for watching. As my colleague was walking in the general direction he had no idea what was occurring until after the hawk took of and remaining in the general area. Anyway, the rabbit remains were not disturbed and the hawk may have returned to the spot to finish his meal after we left...........alex

I would bet those petroglyphs @6:20 and @9:35 are at least 10,000 years old...it would take that long for that scratched rock surface to be weathered to that extent...

Reboert, thanks for watching and your comment. Yes, it takes many years for the original petroglyph to return to its original patina of the rock. Thousands of year for sure...........................alex

I read the water analysis in the area of Darwin was among the purest known. An undergraound aquifer from the melting of the glaciers. Also out that way a mineral company wants to strip mine for gold.

The triple cross looks like the paleo-semitic letter samech, which is possibly the symbol of a skeleton or "to prop up or support"! In other words, this location is habitable!

The circle with a cross is like the paleo-Hebrew letter "tet", possibly representing a serpent!

I wish you wouldn't disclose the location of these places! It's only a matter of time before vandals show up to destroy this amazing place! They just reported one of the petroglyphs stolen not too long ago!
@storiesbyalex
@storiesbyalex 5 лет назад
Thanks for watching and your comments. I understand your sentiment as I have come across much vandalism. But, this also occurred thousands of years ago. We find this at sites where several cultures superimposed their symbols over preceding tribes that left behind their symbols. Also, my sensing is that someone wanting to visit these sites who take the time to travel to them is not doing so for the purpose of vandalisim. Also, most of the sites I have visited are known and can be found by simply searching the internet. I think the key to preventing vandalism is education, which hopefully give pause to those contemplating ignorant acts.........alex
@SmuckingAwesome

@@storiesbyalex Yes I guess you're right! You would have to be a fairly determined vandal to go so far out to vandalize! LoL

@@virgo714 The Little Lake area/region is within the Coso Rock Art District which contains over 100,000 petroglyphs. Their age includes several different millenniums, but the oldest are thought to be around 10,000 year old. I have produced about 6 films from this region, which are posted on my channel. This link provides information on the Coso area: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coso_Rock_Art_District
