Imagine being an obscure indie band that's just writing songs for yourself and a small scene, then the one song that blows up internationally is the one you wrote about going on a shooting spree.
@@notveryobviousguy4373 Do you mean lip syncing? This whole thing was live, the only thing that was pre recorded was the little sound board thing that he used to add in the little sounds in the song that couldn't be done live.
Could a world even exist where one could accurately say "the guy with the maracas just doesn't seem to be enjoying himself"? I think maracas just make everything fun and happy!
My god! The sound mixer for this show has got a talent, he needs a pay rise! Every instrument was extremely clear, which for this type of music, is very hard to master.
+John Jacob haha I just watched their Loolopoloza Performance. That has got to be the worst sound mixing I've ever heard. At first Mark looks like he's building up his excitement about playing the song, and then they start playing and hear the bad sound and he looks like he's going to kill the sound mixer!
@@wintermute8315 it’s so crazy hearing his voice live for the first time in ‘21 after listening to studio recording since 5th grade . He sounds so good live
@@donzatana3650 Yeah, not a band I would have ever thought to really hunt out a live performance of, like "oh, I bet they're an amazing live band". But this just nailed it!
TheMusicrunner listen with headphones. There’s a clap layered over some of the snare hits during the chorus, yet no one’s clapping so there’s likely at least a backing track
It wasn't live 🤣 but it sounded great. The sound mixer killed it. The backing track is better than the album version and the vocals cut through perfectly
@@randomhumanonearth777 it is live. Marc Pontius said in an Interview in 2016, that the Band is always playing live. He hates the Popculture with their playback shit
This is the best version of this song. That drummer's groove just launched this song into a whole nother Level. Give that man, and the sound engineer, a raise.
This should be a pointed example of sound mixing; every instrument and vocal is present and clear. I would kill for an uncompressed version of this mix.
@@frontcentermusician I agree, but very few backing tracks here. Drums guitar and bass, as well as foster's keyboard and voice are live. Maraca guy is obviously playing too. Whistls not completely tuned. There may be a couple of voices added but i don't think much else. If you hear other versions of theirs, they vary a lot in the small details (and the different mixes), they are quite the live band.
@@Cero01One omg...you know that live performances are often recorded prior for non studio sound right? It makes it so that vocals or whatever have some engineering and mix applied. Don't be a lame ass, those vocals are absolutely not live.
The guy with the yellow maracas is a BAD ASS dude. He has a contagious energy the way he dances and projects to the public. If I ever start a band I would want that dude in my band........
@@bbmolnar, lol, I meant who does know what to do with their arms. I always feel awkward standing in front of people, not knowing what to do with them. Lol
@@wiremanartay! I remember when they were ‘Art Lord and the Self Portraits’. Good ol’ fashioned N.C. art rock. I still remember hanging with Will and some mutual friends at whatever that record store near Mars music was in Raleigh back in the early 2000’s.
Saw tool live on his 50th bday in Pheonix. Played all the old stuff. It was my bday too. Was a gift for my bday from my husband. Tool live is better than studio. No bs just music. No glory grab. Just music
This should be Master Class 101, 202, 303 and 404 for how a sound engineer mixes music. Perfection at its finest. Whoever you are, they are not paying you enough.
Isadore Morgan I've been to this show in person, it's not the room, it's the band and their equipment. The band I saw there sure as what didn't sound this good.
Thank you i had watched this 3 times trying to understand why it sounds so good. The audio levels are incredible. This could be studio and I wouldn't know any difference
That keyboard opening is infectious along with that splash effect on the bass. Guitarist just chilling hanging tight vibing, drummer is making it look so easy and the maracas man carrying the performance like it's his last. Well done FTP.
Mark Foster is so awkward he’s totally cool ! Great song, great band and lyrics are amazing. Love the way the whole band are so into the performance. Put this on repeat and turn up the volume LOUD !
The guy with the miracas and the keyboard. Looks like the guy in high school that was cool as hell and smoked 2 joints with you in your '95 Corolla before school. Then acted like he didn't know you between classes and at lunch.
You haven't watched much live music so. This is good, very good but only a miniscule of the great live sessions on YT. Try Shakey Graves 'Roll The Bones' Audiotree Live
Miss the theme song with video of Craig & his puppets doing the town up right- he has that unbeatable combination of intelligence, humor and charm sounds like a simple recipe but nobody's bested him yet in the night talk show format.
They’re not one hit wonders, they have plenty of hits. Just nine most people listen to. “Helena beat” “sit next to me” “I would do anything for you” many many very popular songs that just weren’t played on the radio
@Everton Emanuel Ribeiro Muniz evertonocarina putz nem vão entender tive um desses kkk tijolao com tv e touch com caneta e um monte de coisas kkkkkkkk bons tempos.
This is the best way that a band or artist can show they are true musicians, not using false sound or a false voice. I like they are honest and show their true music.
Samples performed live =/= samples performed in a studio. Even with the sampled vox here, he has to change the pitch by pressing different keys. It's still him playing.
everyone’s talking about how AWESOME the live performance is, but I think the camera work is AMAZING and it’s one of those things you usually don’t pay attention to but that just blew me away for some reason. The live performance is great too.🤟
