What a beautiful little lady. And a wonderful foster fail. There's no way you could let her go. Welcome home Tripod Trixie. I look forward to updates and meeting her furry friend.
I am crying real tears because of this 😭😭😭😭😭 suckling on a peanut?? Sleeping in a pocket??? She moves like she doesn't even know she's a tripod! She's so beautiful. Instant follow.
I got my two boys Buddy and Sparky in January to help me cope with a trauma I went through, and they are such lovely, sweet little helpers, brightening every day for me. So much personality somehow packed into an animal with almost zero facial expressions. Derping, chirping, wrestling over the coveted blueberries without noticing they have one each, getting startled by the most random things or by nothing at all, curiously exploring everything, flinging their bedding and poops out between the bars or in each others' faces like confetti, boldly trying to make obviously impossible jumps, and much more lol. Adorable little goofs! I keep showing off my cute photos of them to everyone, it's helping me break the ice and get to know my coworkers, but I never realized how many people don't actually know what a gerbil is, they seem to be a lot less well-known than hamsters and mice. Definitely my favourite rodent now though, the soft fuzzy tails are so nice to stroke when they poke out between the bars, and it's the one place I can pet them that they don't even seem to notice for a minute or two before turning around and giving me a questioning look lol.
@@ShadowNinetales gerbils really are a dream I miss mine. I've been wanting to get and try out having pet rats and that's definitely my next goal. But theres something about gerbils that will keep me coming back to get more. Last time I had gerbils I had 5 brothers and one of them got declanned and it was a very very stressful time. Basically the "alpha" just decided he hated one and attacked on sight. Every other gerbil except for what I figured was the "beta" stopped grooming and even paying attention to this one. This is the first time in my life I've personally seen an animal die of depression. It was really harrowing.
@@MurderAssassin Awwww oh no, poor outcast gerbil, that's really sad. My Sparky is clearly the 'alpha' brother, he's larger and pushes Buddy around, hogs a lot of the food, chases and dominance humps him and stuff like that, but seems to show a lot of affection for him too. After wrestling and pinning him down, he often covers his face in tiny licky gerbil kisses. And one will sleep cuddled up to the other one's butt lol. I hope they never become actual enemies, I'm soon going to put them in a larger habitat but hopefully that won't make them declan.
@@ShadowNinetales it's always testy when there are more than 2 or 3 but declannimg isn't that common I don't think. And there are ways to both prevent and help once it's started being a thing. As long as they both groom each other and sleep together you know things are okay. If either of those stop you might have to consider some things Gerbils have the most fascinating social dynamics I loved that the most about them as well as their curiosity
@@MurderAssassin It is incredibly fascinating to observe how they interact with each other. It looks surprisingly similar to a pair of human brothers goofing around and pestering each other but caring about each other really lol. It's almost like a tiny, non-verbal sitcom running in the middle of my room.
Thankyou for caring! A lot of people dont understand my love of small rodents..they think they dont have personalities. Your video shows this little lady to be packed full of personality. What a character and so glad she found you!
Awww omg this melted my heart. I have 4 beautiful boy gerbils who like to sit on my knee while I watch tv too. So cute yes she needs a friend they don’t like to be alone. Going to that next video now! Ha ha 🥰
I have 2 little gerbils at home called pip and chip! They are both 6 months but I’m glad you could raise this cute little guy. She’s so cute especially with the peanut!
from one gerbil mommy to another, you are an angel for taking her in. what a sweet little baby. our boy is the same coloring as her but much bigger, so she absolutely melts my heart. 🧡🥹
Omg, this is the cutest thing ever. I was very relieved to hear that her weird spacing out was for such an adorable and harmless reason. I dream of becoming this close with my two little fluffy boys, I got them in January and they are still not quite sure if my hand is for walking on, nibbling on, sniffing at or avoiding altogether lol.
I adore gerbils, this lil one looks exactly like my lovely Matilda who sadly passed in March 😢 I feel like gerbils are very underrated pets, I have 3 of them and they’re very curious and interesting creatures. I love them, unfortunately mine don’t like to be handled or cuddled like yours but I still love them. Thank you so much for taking care of Trixie ❤️
You do realise that introducing a new gerbil to another gerbil is a long and difficult process? You’ll need to just get them used to each other’s scent maybe by letting them sniff each other, and gradually let them spend time wandering around together. So it might not work but you should definitely try!
this is the most precious video i have ever seen🥺💗 i have had to medicate one of gerbs before and i know how hard it is when a gerb is sick i am always so touched to watch videos like this especially about gerbils Trixie and her peanut was too freaking cute!!!!!! i was rooting for you and Trixie through the whole video like "please tell me you adopted her!" i am so glad you both found eachother, this is truly one of my favorite videos in the world
OK! I live gerbils so much I breed them I have 12 right now I had 16 but I got them forever homes and I'm keeping 4 but one of them broke its leg recently and it is so calm just like yours! I think they are identical like the same colors I truly think you will take great care of trixy she's truly the sweetest gerbil I've ever seen! I hope she does good and stay is strong in your hands! And I hope u will end up having her and her friend when you get her a friend. Btw, gerbils actually live in troop in the wild and there is a saying (a lonely gerbil is always a sad gerbil). I hope you enjoy this comment and to everyone out there reading this comment sub to her bc she is a great youtuber and she is kind hearted just like her gerbil, her and her gerbil are a perfect match! If I were you I would get a gerbil they are great pets and I mean great pets like they are easy to take care of, loyal, sweet and you might not agree but I personally think they are better than hamsters cuz, well hamsters have 4 comments diseases and gerbils only have 3, hamsters bite alot all the time and gerbils dont, its very rare for them to bite! Hamsters also live for only 3 or less years and gerbils live for 4 or less! I really hope this helps you guys if you are reading this, and great job reading till down here you are truly a great reader!😁😁😊😊😃😃🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗:3
I love gerbils, I have 4, Shadow, S’mores, Daisy, and Diamond. My gerbils are separate Daisy and Diamond in one cage. And S’mores and Shadow in one cage because they fight
Gerbil are new for me. I am more used to hamsters, but in this case I did some research and made sure not to snatch them up, unless I have no choice. I let them decide when they want to come out to play and let them come to me. I also offer treats from my hand an wink at the lots so they know I'm not a threat. They don't love being held, but I can get a few seconds of petting before they get squirmy. Then its mostly free roam time and they come see me and climb on me.
Hello! I have a TikTok account with almost a million followers and would love to use one of your videos and credit you in the description let me know if that’s ok with you! Thanks!
just as a quick headsup, with a gerb that misses their back leg, you need to check and clean the ear that is at the side of the missing limb, as they cannot do it themselves
