The second it are not pliers but shears for cutting sheet metal like thin steel or aluminum. Sometimes called tin snips. Some of the other pliers are actually diagonal wire cutters. A very nice find. I have a few tools from the late fine furniture maker from my hometown. He made the grandfather clock in my hall and a desk I have. They were my parents friends.

The knife with the spike looks like a British navy crewman’s knife. The large “marlin” spike is used to help untie knots. That will be really nice with some clean up. Nice group of tools!! The Old Army Scout….

@@davedoughty1213 thank you. Yes, after the video I did some research and found out the use for it. That’s fascinating, I’ll get it clean soon and post it here.

Untie knows or to splice ropes to each other or to make a loop at the end of a rope

The first knife(Bayonet) it's probably second world war, maybe first, not it's missing the latch/ button to hold it the the bayonet lug of the rifle, that's what the hole is for. The second knife looks home made. The pocket knife is definitely second world war, as it's Dated 1941, the arrow, is known as the broad are or crows foot, that means it is/ways British government property, they put that on everything, from Rifles, to tools, to even spoons. That spike is called a merlin spike, it's for tieing knots. These knives are fairly collectable, as is the bayonet. The stones in the tree brand box are called slip stones, or slips, they are for sharpening wood carving gouges The big shovel thing is an Adze, possibly a shipwrights Adze, is basically an axe for flattening wood, it isn't not a digging tool, those can be worth a bit of money, especially if it has a name, your probably does! The next thing you pick up, that you said is thick and thin are feeler gauges, they have lots of uses but most common it's setting the gap on a engines spark plug. That plane is in infill smoothing plus! The Blade is marked Alex Matheson of Glasgow(made in Glasgow Scotland), but the rest of the plane might not be, but if the plane is Marked Matheson, it's probably made By Spiers of Ayr, Scotland, ether way that is VERY collectable, and worth a lot of money, around £100-£200 easy, maybe more, could be as much as £500, no joke, the rest of the names is the owner, he would have had a steel name punch to mark all his tools as his. That plane is over 100 years old. That's some really good treasure you have, look after it!

You need to research some of those tools so you know what they are for and how to use
