I agree, keep these wonderful pieces George, it's not the money value...rather it's the heart and soul that went into making each piece. If you don't want them, gift the pieces to family and friends. By the way a lot of Native American jewelry before 1968 are not marked, but are genuine silver and turquoise.

You need to invest in a book about vintage costume jewelry. I saw names of some wonderful designers, and many of the pieces you discarded are so valuable to collectors. Many said already that the orange pieces are coral, not costume. Darned, I would have loved to be there to help you identify. Some of the older, filigree pieces that look like 925, but not marked are probably base metal rhodium plate. That last 14K bow brooch that George opened it gorgeous! Has it sold yet? If not, I’d love to buy it. Last, please treat all these pieces with respect. Even costume. Even pieces that you don’t think are pretty. This was someone’s beloved collection. Please respect the person who owned these and how these were part of her life’s story. Thanks ❤️

The Spanish conquistadors melted priceless gold statues into gold bars. The spoons are worth alot as is .....not smelted. These lovely Real coral, old bakelite and everything in that old jewelry box is worth SO Much money. You really need to research your ideas of What costume jewelry really means. That jewelry box (excluding the heart cuff) is worth at least $800.00 and up on Etsy. The bracelet with the pin closure is worth about $300.00 or more on Ruby Lane.....there are Victorian pieces too. Those "butt pinchers" are used to hold escargot shells. That vintage piece is from the 1930's to 1950'. Don't melt any of that down...please. You guys have a gold mine with this stuff. I love your videos. Please don't take this advice wrong. Just remember....gold mine.

Also, any Victorian, nouveau, and/or VCJ, I’d be interested in buying. I’m fair and would make offers based on documented appraisals (fine) and prices recently sold on the VC (eBay and Worthpoint.) Since the 1920s, Trifari has been one of the most respected and admired producers of costume jewelry in the United States. Founded in the 1910s by Gustavo Trifari, the Italian-immigrant son of a Napoli goldsmith, the company has designed jewelry that’s been worn by countless high-profile clients, from Mamie Eisenhower to Madonna. Trifari partnered with sales managers Leo Krussman and Carl Fishel to form Trifari, Krussman and Fishel in 1925, the brand commonly known as “Trifari” today. Authentic Trifari jewelry is typically marked with "Jewels by Trifari," "TKF" (for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel), or "Trifari," depending on when it was made. I'd say that's an extra point to George then...!

Just to mention about those 3 brushes you found in the box, if they are Mason, those brushes are worth a lot. A good Mason is usually 50 dollars a piece, depending on the size. So never just say it's only a brush, for they are worth their weight in gold too.

orange looking beaded necklaces in the box is probably real coral. Coral can be pricey. It is not costume jewerly.

I use to sell all those in 1976, they were expensive then, high end costume jewelry, it was usually 14K gold.

The turquoise and silver rings are nice. Pattern on the larger one looks Navajo, but I'm not sure. But they do look old. I'd check on that. And George, the bracelet has had the catch replaced and the markings would have been on the catch. And your Japan stuff was in the 60's and 70's Japan was the #1 exporter of pearl jewelry. Scorpio on jade setting. Your orange and red beads may be coral and NOT costume jewelry. Yellow beads are amber and NOT costume. I got ot stop this every time I see you guys paying attention to the clasp instead of the stones I go crazy screaming at the screen!

Better check the hair brushes you just tossed aside. Could be silver on them.

The turquoise and silver native pieces are valuable. The smaller ring with the bright blue seems to be a rare turquoise from the now closed "Sleeping Beauty Mine".

The shell spoon is to eat caviar with like Bender said. Only way you can eat it with utensils otherwise get out you toast or fingers. :D. You two have got to get a magnifying glass at the very least, and a book on IDing stones and metals used unmarked or hallmarked from Europe. Plus, throwing around jewelry is bad, they can break, chip, scratch or otherwise be damaged and made worthless even. Please you two take it easy. Opals break very easily as do coral, amber (I thought I saw at least one, possible two amber necklaces). Several of the so called costume pieces you tossed aside are not cheap. Expect some books, they will help quite a bit. I don't mean to be mean, just want you to get your best value so the move to CA or TX or whereever is easy.

A small tip. Gold and silver will have a better clasp. They will not put a cheap clasp on something that costs more.

The necklace that was dumped out of the envelope is coral. Look inside the latches, there is more flat space to hammer in the mark.
