London has the highest amount of teenage pregnancies in the UK and rates among British black or mixed race girls are significantly higher.
15-year-old Cacherrah and 16-year-old Chenice became best friends when they both got kicked out of school and attended the same pupil referral unit. But the similarities don’t end there. Both will soon be teenage parents; Cacherrah is mum to 4 month old Malakai, Chenice is a mum to be and both will be coping on their own.
Cacherrah is still with the father of her child, 17 year old Jehrique, but her mum lives with her boyfriend and her dad lives 40 miles away. How will she juggle motherhood with the mounting pressure of her mock GCSE’s?
Chenice is 6 months pregnant and the father of her child doesn’t believe the baby is his. Facing life as a single mum she turns to Cacherrah for support. Armed with her birthing video and months of experience, Cacherrah is on hand to prepare her friend for what lies ahead.
