Putting costumes on the foundations is everything. Also- love the quick and detailed explanations for each product and then boom next round. LOVE that!! It's like getting 14 foundation reviews in a video that's less than 20 mins long. Perfect. I just got Haus labs and love it! But the final showdown and the way you described them...I'm gonna have to try Tower 28 and Nars too!
The tower 28 is amazing. I gave mine to my mum because the lightest shade wasn’t light enough. I was so bummed out. Great finish and felt nice on my skin though
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the information that you put into your videos. I have learned so much more from you than the 10 years of RU-vid beauty I have watched.
You are the most reliable when it comes to makeup reviews. I'm always trying to look up product reviews on your channel before buying them. You explaining the whole experience of applying the product, plus sharing your knowledge about the formulation and production, is what makes your videos so reliable, and truly helpful.
The best for mature dry or combination skin is Dior Forever Glow Foundation and pair it with Dior Forever Glow Primer, add Givenchy Prisme Libre Voile Rosè loose powder and you will be good for 12 to 14 hours. Retouch Givenchy Prisme Libre Voile Rosè pressed powder that comes with a decent little brush. Oh and I'm 60 years old.
I love being able to get a quick review of all these foundations like this but I wonder if we can get more and not just for foundations, doesn’t even have to be a showdown/competition just a short on each specific product could probably do And also make it easier to search for the product we’re looking for - maybe even just a list of the products you talk about in the description would probably help for when we’re searching in the search bar
Light reflecting is amazing but my personal favorite is Lancome Care and Glow! Although my go to for everyday is the Lancome Skin Feels Good. It has the SPF and is more of a tinted moisturizer with a natural finish and a light to medium buildable coverage. The best costume has to go to Mario though, I loved it!! ❤ The effort they put into this video was incredible, you guys are the best!!!!
omg i love that you give makeup advice i can’t really get from most beauty youtubers because a lot of them just apply the foundation and either say it’s cute or not good. but with your experience and knowledge, i can finally make makeup decisions based on my skin type/ concerns, the desired result/ finish, wear time, etc. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 thank you so much!
I would love to see a video to help us fair skinned, cool to neutral under tones with normal skin pick out items if we were starting a new everyday makeup bag from start.
That would be nice to see in a video. I have a hard time finding concealers and tinted moisturizer. I tend to get Korean products because they have more cool tone options
You dressing the bottles up is hilarious!! 🤣🤣I thought you were going to dress up but then almost spit out my coffee when you were introducing the costumes on the bottles!! Great video!! ❤
Finding your channel was fortunate cause I needed new makeup and the algorithm gave me this video. You are my new makeup and everything beauty consultant. ❤❤
My favorite costume was the Nars Harry Potter, and Mario for the Mario! 😂That was such a great idea I loved it! I've actually never tried any of these foundations but now I might have to! Thanks for the great video ladies!❤
as an oily girl, thank you for this! There were so many foundations I've been too afraid to try, but your tips and guidance helped me feel more empowered to try some of them!
Nars is my favorite foundation too!!! I've worked in high end cosmetic retail for years and currently working as a professional makeup artist. I got bored last year and got a job at Sephora for 10 months and took samples of many different foundations but the Nars stuck out so much, it was the only foundation I ended up purchasing in the end. I love the coverage and the wearability of it. Keep in mind that I'm almost 50 years old and on the drier side nowadays even though our summer gets super humid around here, living surrounded by the beach.
I have combination to normal skin, I have an oily t zone not so much in the winter though. I always gravitated towards matte foundations as I was led to believe if u have oily skin to wear that, but I’ve realised that I prefer a natural, dewy finish. I love watching you as I always feel I come away, having learnt something. Back in 2018-2020 I watched a lot of beauty content creators, when I did my makeup or bought products recommended to me, they never looked as good on me, so I thought I was doing something wrong. I fell out of love with makeup because of it. But watching your videos has given me that passion back, so thank you. I 100% trust ur recommendations
I have dreamt of the Dior & Armani foundation! It may be my first Christmas gift to myself! Thank you for ALL you do for us! Also just got my Anissa brushes (with my TLL discount of course😉)…can’t wait to use them! This was awesome and I’m waiting for the matte collection ❤❤❤
I personally love Haus Labs. Before that my fave was Fenty Beauty Eaze Drops and Pat McGrath. I will now try the Tower 28. Honestly, I feel like the Armani looked really great on you...too bad the ingredients list, leaves something to be desired. Keep up tge great work. I love your videos. My favorite content creator of all time and the only one I've ever commented on. Keep educating us! We love it!
I would LOVE a rec for a foundation IN A COMPACT! I used to use ItCosmetics Confidence In A Compact and it was discontinued 😢 I looked at the Patrick Ta one and it was WAY too gooey. HELP! 🥰
I saw you mention wanting to improve accessibility in someone else's comment. Would it be possible to add chapters or timestamps to the video to mark when you talk about a specific foundation? So its easy to go back and forth when looking for information about a specific foundation.
I just tripped on your channel! Your delivery is spectacular and your content has depth so I subscribed! ❤ I just bought the Muf HD foundation and I love it but will try Haus … when I want to feel sexy! 🙌
I just purchased the Glossier foundation a few weeks ago on a whim. It wasn’t even a foundation I was looking to try but I decided to purchase it with the concealer and I LOVE it so much! I can’t stop wearing it and it wears so beautiful throughout a full day!!! Seriously my skin looks like it does in the morning when I first do my makeup!!! So yeah and for the price!!!! Glossier has everything I want and I am never satisfied with a foundation BUT glossier YES !!!
I’m waiting on the Haus Labs foundation right now but might go to for years has been the Smashbox 24 hour studio skin but nobody ever talks about that one
Hi! I loveee your channel. When you talk you sound so educated in the products you show, I feel like a friend is telling me about the makeup she would recommend to me 😭❤
Nars Needs to get much better shade names , that alone stops me from purchasing very many . I have the majority of these foundations, the Haus Labs is one of my top , Syncro Skin is one of my top 3 .
Hi Kookla, thank you for this hysterical breakdown of foundations. I get compliments on how great my skin looks, not how great my makeup looks when I wear the Nars Light Reflecting foundation. Love from NYC xoxog
My skin changes so much from year to year. I loved Kosas. Loved it. Bought a back up. Now? No. Haus Labs is a good one. I still love my IT CC but the radiant one. I get compliments when I wear it. Shiseido also has a nice one. Very skin like and natural is the Wet N Wild Tinted Moisturizer. The smell is odd but it looks good one. Neutrogena has a great foundation too.
Hey, friend! I work for Nordstrom (I manage Westman Atelier) and was the Dior counter manager for a little over 4 years.. I want to help you find the perfect shade because they should have one for you!
I didnt expect my 2 go to foundations to end up competing in the finals😂 the yoga pants analogy is so true. I also love how the nars has my exact shade match, but i love the fact that the tower 28 doesnt feel like makeup
Oh my God, the Taylor Swift costume that's hysterical...patiently waiting for the oily skin matte version. I don't know, I've always been a matte finished girl. I guess cause I'm so oily but I also have a lot of texture. I should probably try one of these.
If you haven’t tried it yet, try Revlon’s Illuminance skin-caring foundation! Based on your foundation preferences I really think you’ll like it. It’s a little on the expensive end for a drug store foundation but I think it’s worth it, has squalane and HA in it, always makes my skin feel nice and it looks really smooth.
Loved the video, so informative. Harry Potter costume number 1 and always love me some Travis lol. Cute idea though. I’m 52 any thoughts of foundation for aging skin? Also I always have trouble with getting the right shade? You’re great love all your videos.
I hadn’t shopped for a replacement foundation since finding L’Oréal Infalliable, however going in to my 30s and having my skin start to dry up I decided it was time to try something new… went in to the Nars store when the light reflecting foundation had just been launched… lucked out the very first time 😂
Nabla skin realist is the tower 28 but it has a colour that matches me, plus it’s an Italian brand😮 I just wish they sold it in North America because I don’t love having to buy it online.
Love this series, you deliver so much information do concisely encompassing the entire gamut. I learn something from each video you both put out. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Could you include Bobbi Brown foundation?
I’ve always wonder about foundations for dry skin types. Is the “glow” added to make the skin appear dewey and healthy with a slight sheen or does the “glow” actually add moisture? Also, those liquid, ash blonde eyebrow mascaras/pens? Some of take on a green cast. Why don’t manufacturers use a violet base to drab down a product? Don’t get me started on added perfume, fragranced/scented makeup & skin care.
I recently got into makeup and I can’t find the matte foundation showdown video, did you post it and I’m just blind? 😅 tysm for the great information you always share! It’s been super helpful and fun!
What is just foundation these days? I do skin care every day, I do full make up on Sundays and special occasions. What is most like old school Mary Kay day radiance foundation in the glass bottles from the 90s? That's what I miss.
I find that the formula works best for people with dry/mature skin. For very dry clients/clients seeking a medium coverage with radiance, I use the Saie glowy gel as a primer. I've noticed it separating on oilier clients and emphasizing texture if not paired with a primer for clients with large pores. Topicals has a primer called Sealed that works really well with it for texture. That being said, its not too finicky because skin prep fixes most foundation woes.
So FAB!!! Can you do aWHOLE video about how to prep the sckin for "in between skin"... 40s with dry patches... Where the foundation just seats on top... Ugh! Help!
Too bad you put this much effort in but never mention how/if these settle into lines or accentuate texture. Which is usually the concern of any makeup wearer, young or old. Additionally, you do seem to push Haus Labs a lot, and that could be because you like it, or your helping sell it, or ass kissing, or all of the above. But there are so many trusted influencers out there (to name one, Angie Hot n Flashy) who says it breaks down and rubs off fairly quickly, and disappears after just a few hours. 😮
