One of the greatest singalong hits of all-time!!! I remember the spring of 1969 at Fort Lewis, Washington when we were hanging around the barracks on a Sunday afternoon. This song would be blasting on the radios in the barracks, and of course everyone was singing along to it. Last good times I had before shipping out to Vietnam that summer.
I was 8 when this came out. A time then and for years to come that all the songs on the radio were amazing! Well at least 95% were..lol RIP Clem Curtis, The Godfather of English Soul...
Beautiful gig, I know that Collin's voice, magnificent nonetheless. I was about to fall out my chair at outlet when I heard (what I assumed) was Tony Gomesz on organ. All great.
One of my favorite songs of the 1960's. And I love to see blacks and whites getting along so well. Can't listen to this song without a big smile on my face.
Clem Curtis miming to Colin’s Voice. Also there are no original Foundations in this Band. The original Foundations members on the Buttercup recording were: Colin Young (Lead Vocal), Alan Warner (Guitar/backing vocals), Tim Harris(Drums), Tony Gomez (Keyboards/Backing Vocals), Mike D’abo ( Piano), Eric Allandale (Trombone/Backing Vocals), Pat Burke (Tenor Saxophone), Bass guitar was a session guy, I think was Eric Ford. 😊😊😊
@@ryoamora8655 Don't try and pretend it's live if it's not! They have a stage, and audience, a band, etc. Sorry, but all this elaborate nonsense, to pull off a lip-synch? Really?
Perhaps, PERHAPS the singer is the actual Foundations SECOND lead singer. His is NOT Clem Curtis, the original Foundations singer. What these phonies are doing is LIP-SYNCING the original record. This is BS!!!
I just love this song. It makes me feel happy because the way it is played and sung. I was 11 when I first heard it and still love listening to it today!
Classic. I remember that about 20 years ago I accompanied my kid on a scout campout and around the campfire they all broke out into this. It's a song I grew up with but that transcends the ages. Like the chap below, yes, we also sang it in the barracks. An American treasure, it is.
Build Me Up Buttercup 날 추켜세워놓고!
