Despite the absurd size, I absolutely love this game. I've played it 3 times in the past 2 weeks and I am addicted to it. I don't think this'll ever leave my collection
Thank you for introducing me to a game I didn't know existed. I jump on the creaters website and snagged a copy for myself. Can't wait to get my hands on it
Wow glad I caught your playthrough. Went to AW’s site right away and bought the sundrop version; there were only 25 copies left! Shipping on May 25th, can’t wait. This looks awesome.
This video made me buy the Emperor's Pledge w/ sundrop. I'm not sure whether to thank you or curse you. ;-) Thanks for the continued great work and showing me that this game play + table presence + theme does actually seem worth the price to me. It's just a super duper expensive Father's Day gift.
I just love the thumbnail image (or whatever it's called), juts Love it. Thanks for your play through. Although the price is very high for the game you get (not the production but the gameplay), but I'll still order this. Can't not have those building minis.
It was only at the end that I figured out it's like a version of _Cathedral_ with a more complicated scoring mechanism that costs $300. Sure is pretty though.
Played this solo, 2P and 5P; played with monuments expansion and invocations module so far. It looks beautiful, the gameplay is very satisfying with quick but meaningful decisions on each turn, and for our first 5P game finishing under 1.5 hours while also giving everyone at the table an enjoyable experience means this game will never leave the collection. Looking forward to drafting deeds, objectives module, trading and stealing module, player roles module and even the cooperative module. Plenty of variability here to keep this game consistently at the table.
@@pietroviske solo was okay, definitely not as good as multiplayer. I am not an avid solo gamer though. I would definitely play solo again if I can’t get FoR to table much with others as it worked and was enjoyable. Multiplayer is where it is at though.
I think the only thing you forgot at end of game scoring was to add on the income value to your scores which bring your wife's score too 101 and bump yours up to 120.
The shared grid reminds me of Acquire, except that game is half a stock market game. I've heard from the oldheads in my game group that it was made by 3M in the 50's as part of their plastic business.
Played first not on TTS game yesterday! It's so good still and such a table presence! I just want to show everybody how pretty it is lol and absurdly large as well 😂 Don't forget you get 1 point for every remaining lot marker on the board
Pro tip: split the bank into two piles, so each of you has a bank. Less waiting on the other player to get/give your money. :) But regardless, love your videos and am so mad i missed this KS!
This was expensive , especially since I had to bye another shelving unit 😅. But it's never leaving my collection, it might be one of my grave goods! Lol..
Shouldn't the monument also affect the take income amount and the end of turn income? It was not added for both end of turn 2 and take income during round 3
So are you scoring based on advanced scoring? When I played we scored based on the population we had, not the person ahead of us. Is that a catch up mechanic or somethin?
I just had a chance to play this game on Sunday and I thought it was brilliant… albeit a bit over-produced, of course! 😅 I couldn’t believe the complexity is only a 1.89/5 on BGG based on the look of the game but once I learned the rules that actually seemed fairly accurate! Not sure how much I’d like it at two players (I was playing a five-player game), but I’m sure it still holds up!
The smaller size of the play area at 2 players helps to keep the tension in the game. Also, I'm not sure if the BGG score includes Monuments, Roles, Objectives and Invocations - all of which can be added to the base game.
You can pre-order a copy from their website and it will ship after the KS backers get their copies.. I did it the emperor pledge and it ships on or before 5/20/22
