Before Alnylam, Maraganore was an SVP at Millennium Pharmaceuticals leading their protein drug development work, and a director at Biogen where he led the work to develop Hirulog, which was ultimately approved for patients with percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA).
