This is probably one of the most underrated movies from the 80s of all the 80s horror classics! Beginning till the end I literally love every 2nd of this movie!
I'm a few years older. We were teens at the cinemas, when this came out. You would have loved the atmosphere, in the packed theater. Everyone gasped and laughed together.
Ah yes, Evil Ed. Played by the only actor to ever start off in serious Hollywood movies, THEN spend years in low budget hardcore porn, rather than the other way around.
I agree he seems to be the only real one that I watch about videos... Be nice if there were people doing other genres though... Bth though I'm sure if there was I didn't think they would be as big as this channel... Only other channel I can actually think of that talks about movies is John Solos channel but I was talking movies and although he does talk movies he does folklore more than the movies themselves...
I saw this movie at my very first Press Screening in Chicago waaaay back in 1985. I didn't know anything about this film before accepting a night out at the movies with a friend. Seeing Fright Night on the big screen, was one of the most memorable and fun experiences I've ever had at a movie theater! This movie has a special place in my heart!
Yes! Fright Night was one of the first horror movies I ever watched. I actually have a shirt with vampire Eddie on it that says “Oh, You’re so Cool Brewster.” XD Good times 😁

Problem is, just like several other 80s classics starring the same actors, I literally cannot enjoy watching them any more now that I know the young actors were gay raped by pedo producers/crew during filming. #cannotunknow
Robert Morgan I love those movies so much but it is really disturbing to know a lot of the kids in those movies were being molested or had been to be in the position to get those roles. Good movies but I would sacrifice them for those kids to never have had that happen to them.
Fright Night is one of the best horror vampire movies ever made! This movie had such memorable scenes. One that I'll never forget is the scene when the main vampire runs his sharp claws along the wooden stair railing ever so gently but still manages to get the wood to ribbon as if a wood plain were being applied, what a simple but incredible effect!
I really like the 2011 Fright Night. It's not as pop-culturally meaningful since a huge part of the original was a loveletter to the VHS cable latenight tv horror, I really like it as a horror thriller. That whole scene where he goes into Jerry's house and finds his kill-closet and has to watch in horror as the victim covertly shush him and sorta helps him escape while being eaten. This movie was the perfect level of scary and emotional for teenage me, and Colin Farrell was a *perfect* choice to recast Jerry. EVERYONE was perfect, especially the late (and honestly great) Anton Yelchin who was taken way before his time.
I didn't love every aspect of the remake, but I thought david tennant was great as the vampire expert! really fun to see sort of a rock n' roll take on it
Jerry emerges chopping on an apple and Rocking One Hell of a Sweater 🤣🤣🙊 . As a guy who could care less about fashion especially in today's sense, when you made that statement I laughed so hard because I instantly remembered exactly how kick ass dude strolled down the steps in that sweater lol. As a lil kid who definitely wasn't checking for the gifts with sweaters in them, I was like Damn he's a kool guy look at that sweater lol
Even if another store has opened..... there is still 9,000 stores closed. the company filed for bankruptcy and that last store was independent. So rest in peace blockbuster 🤦🏻♂️
This was one of the first horror films that I watched as a child. To this day,the combination of the creature design and unorthodox soundtrack still brings an atmosphere that is unmatched by other films of its time.
Fright Night, Critters and the Puppetmaster series were my go to horror movie rentals back in the 80's & 90's, though i'd occasionally get Lost Boys(if it wasn't already rented out. I swear that VHS tape had more wear on it than a Kentucky backroad)...
Lol, I LOVE this movie and yes, Jerry Dandridge is easily one of my favorite vampires. I loved the practical effects and all the actors were perfect! Evil Ed was so awesome and cracked me up and seeing Amanda Bearse of Married with Children fame looking hot as a vampire and then seeing her face change was so great! Chris Sarandon is such a great actor. Even as Prince Humperdink in "The Princess Bride," is just fantastic. Seriously, I'm a huge fan of your channel, but this? THIS is fantastical! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the movies you bring to this! 1) Dead time stories 2) House 1 and 2 3) Children of the Night 4) Out of the Dark (Karen Black) 5) Slaughterhouse Rock! Even to this day, since it was released, this is one of my all time favorite horror films. I even had the soundtrack album, lol. BTW, vampires have a extra bone in their fingers...Jerry doesn’t have just long nails, he has a extra joint in his fingers! One kind of sad thing is that Evil Ed only skipped coming back was to star in 976-EVIL (a flop). I was waiting, with bated breath, for the reunion with Charlie trying to save Ed.
My bff & I can repeat word for word almost this entire movie lol. It's still one of our favorites. And the vampire bat in this was absolutely amazing! One of the best looking bats even to this day in my opinion.
I LOVE this movie and its sequel so much! They’re both so well made, and Chris Sarandon and Julie Carmen do amazing work as Regine and Jerry. These movies are seriously just plain horror perfection. I think everyone should see this movie at least once if they’re a hardcore horror fan!

I love that you reviewed this! It's been one of my favorites ever since I was a young kid perusing the horror section of my local video store. This, The Lost Boys, and The Monster Squad began my love affair with vampires (the 80s were evidently a different time for children).

I use to watch a series of movies when I was still pretty young. There are eight all together, *The Howling* ... I know I've seen the first five and the seventh, but not sure if I've seen the other two. But I think it was the fifth I liked best when I was around ten or so and I was only seven when it came out!

I LOVED the original Fright Night! I thought Chris Sarandon made a wonderful vamp. The remake wasn't BAD, and Colin Farrell was wonderfully sexy. I also adore the late Anton Yelchin as Charlie. They changed up the story quite a bit, modernizing it, and it was ok. And David Tennant was a hoot as an updated Criss Angel-type Peter Vincent. I think both are fun entertainment. Also, the Hugo song "99 Problems" during the end credits of the remake, is AWESOME.
Caught this for the first time in 88' on Cinemax when I was 10. The image of Jerry in full on vampire mode gave me nightmares for at least a year after. This has always been one of the best horror movies.
I LOVE the idea of Foundflix Presents. I know it’s easy for people to just breeze by it because it doesn’t have “Ending Explained” tacked onto the thumbnail, but my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed this video and can’t wait for more!

No way I also vividly remember seeing the cover of Fright Night every time going to rent movies and being super freaked out by it! It's so eye catching and unlike any other cover, it definitely stuck with me and now I finally get to know what happened in the movie so thanks!!
I have fright night and the sequel, I used to work in FYE back in ny teens and used it as any excuse to buy my favorite movies. I am to this day a one woman block buster,I love that you are doing this presents feature. That's for keeping great movies alive!
I love this movie! Fright Night is one of my all time favorite movies. The sound track is cool and fun/creepy (fun fact Scream also has an equally cool sound track). I recorded the movie on to a cassette tape so I could listen to/fall asleep to it when I went to bed. Yep that's me the forever creepy kid/ weirdo lol
So this was my first horror movie I ever saw. I was 8 and it was 1990. My older brother had me watch it with him and it’s literally the movie that made me fall in love with horror movies. Been scaring the shit out of myself ever since , 31 years later still at it 👍🏼
