Fountains Abbey - Studley Royal - Ripon 

Fountains Abbey is located about four miles North of Ripon in North Yorkshire. It is a wonderful place for a day out, either as a family, or just solo.
The ruins of the Abbey are a great termination of an half mile walk from one of the entrances at Studley Royal, which itself is striking, with The Church of St. Mary set on an axis through the entrance arch to Ripon Cathedral.
In the grounds of Studley Royal Park one will see some spectacular deer, with striking antlers. A great experience for young children to see these semi tame beasts, up close.
