I hope Disney builds Fire Mountain someday. They could use a Moana theme instead of Atlantis since Moana was a hit and they love to market their princesses.

You guys forgot to include “villain mountain” which was considered at the same time as fire mountain. Ride would have been a water coaster, had most of the main Disney villains and a Chernabog animatronic. Was cancelled for some of the same reasons as fire mountain, Disney later built Little mermaid and snow whites mine train on the land Villain mountain would have been built.

It sounds like a very fun attraction. All Disney villains in one place, and you encounter them on a water coaster. I’m all in if Disney ever desires to make one.

The fact they never built the Excavator, and instead the abomination known as Dino-Rama will be a sin long remembered in my heart.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the planned Mt. Fuji roller coaster for the Japanese pavilion. You being an ex-epcot cast member, I thought for sure it'd be on this list when I clicked on the thumbnail.

Fire Mountain could be the kick up the @ss Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris sourly needs. There's a pretty big expansion plot between Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril and Pirates of the Caribbean that could house it. However, I still want that Indy darkride there too. Maybe Fire Mountain could come to that third gate that currently contractually needs to be build around 2030.

I don't know why Atlantis was such a failure, cause I really like it. Fire mountain would be a great way to bring it to Life... They could retheme this rollercoaster with Moana's Te fiti, though. But it definitely wouldn't be as exicting as the Atlantis' one.

@@EspenSGX I would really love to see in that plot an inmerssive Indiana Jones themed Land and I see Fire Mountain as the big draw there. I think Disneyland Paris would benefit from having an Indiana Jones land and appeal to a wider audience, here in Europe a lot of people see it as a place to go once or twice with your kids

Fire Mountain can still be used as a concept. Vekoma’s new flying coaster that’s in Phantasialand is sort of family friendly and innovative. A launched family flying coaster would bring thrill seekers and families to Disney. Animal Kingdom is due for a rollercoaster to give Disney some time to repair Expedition Everest.

All of these sounded so cool and I wish we got them all. But I won't get over the loss of fire mountain. I'm a massive fan of Atlantis the Lost Empire and wish it still had a presence in the parks. It's such a cool film with a really interesting world that needed to be explored more. It seemed like such a cool concept for a ride and would have added a great thrill ride to Adventureland. Real unfortunate.

My favourite mountain I've been to is Space Mountain. Agitable motion in darkness. Most thrilling mountain ride among the Disney Parks. I loved it so much!

Ah, how did REVIEW TIME miss one of the most epic of all proposed mountains that seriously considered but never came to pass?! The Mount Fuji attraction brings the center-piece of the JAPAN pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase. There were a number of artist renderings and even a mock up model of the Matterhorn Mountain ride-type clone found in Disneyland California. You guys are usually very thorough so I was more than surprised when your video ended and there was no mention of it what-so-ever.

A lot of people who were very young when Atlantis, Chicken Little, and Home on the Range hold a nostalgia for it so something for Atlantis would be cool

I'm glad that Candy Mountain never happened, really not into that theme, I can't see how it can be done without coming off tacky and gimmicky. Gutted the Paris one never happened, that would have been absolutely incredible.

I wanna see these fully-realized rides and attractions for Disney’s Animal Kingdom! - Dinoland USA - The Excavator - another dinosaur-related dark ride - a dinosaur carousel - Asia - a reimagined Kali River Rapids with various jungle animals and a new name as “Kali Tiger River Rapids Run” - an Eastern Dragon roller coaster near Expedition Everest - Africa - Tarzan jungle roller coaster - The Lion King dark ride - Other Rides and Attractions - more carousels

All good ideas. I would also love for them to create a North America themed area and include a Bambi ride, wishfully a second log flume to compete with Splash Mountain. It’s unbelievable that in over seventy years Disney has never had a Bambi attraction.

Let's not forget the proposed and originally planned Mt. Fuji behind the Japan pavilion at EPCOT--a Japanese version of the Mighty Matterhorn at Disneyland. Later when they got closer to a "go" on the proposed Africa area, it was moved to become Kilamanjaro. But...well...we did get Everest. (Smile) ALSO, the original Big Rock Candy Mountain at Disneyland had as a plan REAL candy with a candy/soda river that kids could dip into or break treats off of.....until they realized the draw it would be for birds, bugs, and other critters and the sanitary issues. Ooops.

Awesome video, as usual! I'm most intrigued by Fire Mountain. I had even heard a rumour a few years ago that Disney had plans to build a volcano-based roller coaster in Adventureland, but using the Moana IP in place of Moana. I definitely hope to get some sort of thrill experience in that corner of the park eventually.

The Vekoma coaster would have been great. I like the wooden coaster concept, however (Disney has never operated a wooden coaster) Wayyyy more maintenance for them to tolerate. They used real candy on the rock candy model. A studio window was open. It melted in the warm SoCal temp. Birds came in to eat IT. LOL! That's from Disneyland Inside Story book. It's fun to "knock" about ideas until that "budget thing" comes into play.

I have many fond memories of cool days at early Dinoland USA. I very much loved Countdown to Extinction and Primeval Whirl, even through the latter was just a spinning wild mouse.

There was also a mountain planned for Indiana Jones that would include The Jungle Cruise - The Forbidden Eye - and a mine car rollercoaster all housed in the same building.

Funny thing, Atlantis may have been a flop but that didn't stop them from making a sequel. All the mountains sound cool except the candy one. Though I could see them still doing something similar and theming it to Wreck It Ralph and the candy races.

with disney paris as my home away from home. I would love to have seen the mountain for discoveryland. I have been to Tokyo disney sea and loved the look they have there. It would have been a great fusion :) but still would want to keep our space mountain, it is really the best. Can confirm after trying tokyo and orlando

Starting to not like Disney tbh. It’s starting to look like sheer luck anything gets built. Too much politics. Too much over promising. Too much wasted money.

Universal seems to operate much better these days. They open new rides much quicker than Disney but are as equally if not better quality than Disney (Hagrids, velocicoaster, secret life of pets dark ride).

Disney seems stuck in some sort of malaise as if it sees it more important to be virtual signalling everyone rather than actually being a theme park/entertainer and just letting people enjoy themselves. Universal seems aware that first and foremost its a theme park and still interested in the ‘general public’ rather than just the high spenders which Disney seems obsessed with at the moment. The sacking of so many experienced staff and entertainers is an example in cutting your throat for a short term financial benefit that will end up biting you for example.
