When I was a kid QUEST FOR FIRE was on cable all the time. It was something of a joke I think because you could see their caveman peeps and we were kids. 😂 I should actually go back and watch it as an adult. I do love that STAR WARS depressed him for 3 months. So jelly. 😅 I think that's the Stewart Granger SCARAMOUCHE he's talking about. I watched that a ton of times too back in the late 80s. I managed to develop a crush on Granger even tho in real life he was probably in his late 70s at the timr and I was in high school. I had a lot of old man crushes. Movies make you immortal.

Seriously, I think you have to be a bit egomaniac to choose your own movie but at the same time I kind of respect the amount of pride on your own work that has to go in saying "Yeah, I did that and it fucking ruled and it's one of my favourite four movies of all time".

I think Quest for Fire, which should be brought back into cinema discourse, was the first time I'd seen Ron Perlman. The prehistory genre is really specialized and isn't done very often but this one was great.

I have found the other person on earth who likes Back To The Future 2 more than the original. Thank you Fede for saying what I've always argued! BTTF 1 is the better movie, but BTTF 2 doesn't have to set up backstory and is more of a hijinks movie which is always so much fun on rewatch. I just wanted to respond as I'm binging all the videos on here atm.

Watched The Duelists lately it's fantastic. I looove Quest for Fire. It's damn near a silent movie but you hardly even notice. Looks phenomenal as well.

I hope most directors probably make movies they themselves want to see, so I can't blame him for picking one of his own movies 😅 If I'd made Blade Runner, I might've picked it as one of my favorites too. I would be pretty proud! And love Fede's comment on good films and favorite films.
