Toprak is neither like Marques nor like Rossi or the others. Toprak has only one flag and thats the Turkish flag. Everyone who has a motorcycle in their heart is a fan of Toprak, whether they admit it or not and this is a race for the country because every manufacturer needs a driver and this driver has to come from somewhere, in this case from Türkiye and a race for manufacturers from different countries for a championship therefore the logo of BMW and the flag of Germany.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But, superbike has more countryish vibe than MotoGP. Some independent or wild card like Syahrin in this Portuguese series was sponsored by a government entity (well short of)(crown prince of Johor - JDT - Ducati Malaysia). Secondly, the Superbike is less popular than MotoGP, so the rider popularity is also lesser, and making patriotism is more favourable to draw fans. Also, afaik, Toprak is the most successful and the most popular rider in Turkish history to date. Regardless, some people don't care about the country, as long as doesn't have bad history with their country, they interested with Toprak battle-like-Rossi style, the joy of seeing that and his stunt maybe. Lastly, #54 has already been taken by an active rider at the moment, Passing, although he's currently compete in Moto2.
