Does anyone know, how these cylinder combines handle moist stuff? Traditional combine don't mind/doesn't stuck. I mean, sometimes we don't have a choice but to harvest when we can between rains.. I am looking for new (new to me, used) combine and wondering should i consider small cylinder combine, or just go with traditional. Cylinder combines have more capacity, but this how they handle moist is my concern..
Rotary combines do fine in high moisture and regular crop, It is how the operator sets the machine up to start with. Good operator good results, just a machine runner will screw it up.
Good if they do well in moist, have heard other experiences too.. I doubt the settings matter on this, can't set the machine to handle moist/long straw any better, configuration is what it is and if it chokes easily, it chokes. Settings matter more on how clean it thresh etc. Same goes to operator, if you don't drive too fast, machine will eat what it can. But yeah, traditional is what i bought, don't need (at least not yet) that much capasity.
