I think over-sharing is fine but as you know, there are dysfunctional people who get so enmeshed they read deep into what you say. Maybe even discuss it with others which at that point, you become a success. You matter to them, positive or negatively and that translates to financial success since they're watching your videos.. Thanks for your wonderful disposition, I look forward to your videos each day

Anyway.... watching various videos this year I've realized alot of people go to Aldi. Use to years ago when I had kids. Now its just 2 of us. I would like you to discuss positives of going to Aldis + see Sr. comments of what they buy there to save money as seniors.

1. Over-sharing 2. Not reacting and not-responding 3. Not everything is urgent 4. Staying in my own lane: don’t get involved Excellent! I tell people ‘your emergency is not my responsibility’. Yes, I am blunt about this. But I DO share positive options, if I am asked, to explain a different path to take. People with good verbal skills are still ‘processing’ situations that have happened. This is the ‘why’ of over-sharing. So another option: write it in a journal! By writing it, it goes into a page and others don’t see it. It’s another form of ‘processing’ situations that are over-whelming. An excellent topic! Stalwart

Oh, my. I'm still guilty of this in certain circumstances. I've learned that people who confide in me often don't want solutions. They just want to vent. That's fine as long as I know you don't want my advice and I spend my time finding a solution to your problem. I'm slowly learning to just listen and not react. A harder lesson for me is to not overshare when answering a question. I want to answer honestly; however, I need to edit myself. Great video! Love to all, Linda 💕

I had to take a stepped approach to offering help immediately. I was raised to be a helper and not to ask for help. No, no, no. I changed my conversation from “what do you need me to help with?” To “If you think of something specific I can help with, let me know.” Most often, someone just wants to vent.

I can relate to everything you said. I'm a 'fixer', by nature, and when someone has a 'crisis', I USED to drop everything and go into 'fix-it' mode, until I realized that people are perfectly content to let YOU 'fix' their problems, and they'll bring more and more of them to you, rather than learn to be self-sufficient. In dropping whatever you're doing to help, THEY save time and energy, yet YOU get further behind, as well as taking on the stress and anxiety of their problems. I've worked REALLY hard to simplify my life and make it as stress-free as possible, and it's even moreso, now that I no longer feel the need to fix problems or situations that aren't mine to fix.

@lindacgrace2973
@lindacgrace2973 17 дней назад
@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom {coughs politely} You don't have diagnosed ADHD. There are several different varieties, for instance. The Inattentive Type is what most people think is ADHD - disorganized, spacey, forgetful, poor attention span. HOWEVER, there is the hyperactive type (like me). Let's see if any of this sounds familiar: Can't sit still, has trouble relaxing or "switching off" for relaxation, tends to view relaxation as activities, or something to do NOT as actual relaxation, which is nothing or very little to do. Overshares consistently, many times in ways that are socially unacceptable. Hyper-organized, uses organizing tools as a matter of course, the queen of boxes, bins, and labelling systems. Excellent at managing scheduling and calendars. Has very weak or no filters and takes on everyone else's problems as her own. Blurts out inappropriate thoughts (again, weak or absent 'filters'). Frequently accompanied by sleep disturbances (you are an extreme night-owl; I can't sleep past 5:00 am). Usually highly intelligent (statistically, people with ADHD are above average in intelligence), energetic, and helpful. If something's going wrong with the neighborhood, you can count on the ADHD hyperactive type to organize a committee, motivate people to participate and get something done. Does any of this sound familiar? You may not actually qualify for a formal diagnosis. You seem to be compensating quite well and your energy levels are serving you well, so I wouldn't even recommend getting a diagnosis. What for? You're doing fine. I only offer this observation to give you some insight, if you find that helpful. You're doing great, Dawn- keep up the good work!
@lindacgrace2973
@lindacgrace2973 17 дней назад
@@maureenboland4189 That's exactly what I wrote to Dawn! 😆 I outlined the symptoms hyperactive (rather than inattentive) type ADHD; many of which are identical to my symptoms. I also said that she's doing fine and her energy levels are serving her well, and advised against getting formal diagnosis. Why bother? She's doing great!

My boyfriend always brings up the couple that he's watching and I just simply tell him in a polite way "sweetie I don't care" i care about them as fellow human beings, but that couple over shares and i feel they really should not, its about their personal life. If im not going to go to bed worried if they are going to be happy or not tomorrow about their situation i really don't need to hear it. If you over shared something i would not go to anyone but in the comment section about it. Unless you got a cat and it did something cute, you bet im sharing that lol.
