I actually ordered the postman eclair last week. For the moment it is still in transit to my home. They didn’t have the blue so I took one of the brown shades.
Great bag. I’ve got their Cabine which is a roll top travel duffel. It uses the same system to secure the roll top, it’s quick and convenient, a good setup. The bridal leather on my canvas bag is fabulous quality. For the body of the bag, I very much prefer a more supple leather which they favor on their all leather pieces. This one is high on my list, the color is very cool, I don’t need the dividers of the Eclair. There are some little details the Eclair features that does seem appealing. The way the strap attaches to the bag looks to be placed a bit differently for example. Regardless, great bags and in my opinion such a great balance between style and function, durability and comfort.
Thx for the comment. Totally agree on the bag being top notch! I like how this is an option in addition to the Éclair. Very few companies offer a simple bag.
I have the Eclair; it is definitely designed for a smaller laptop, like my MacBook Air. In terms of space, it is smaller but surprisingly voluminous. Besides my laptop I usually carry chargers, a notebook, other cables and dongles, snacks and a small first aid kit… it holds everything well. As for the value, I can’t find anything like Bleu de Chauffe, not only for the materials and craftsmanship, but the original design and aesthetic. I have two Woody backpacks (highly recommended my friend), the Eclair, a couple of Jackets and a wallet, and I can’t get enough. Cheers brother!! Great review 👏
Cheers, Ely! Thanks for the comment. Totally agree on the value. I should have hit that more in the video. I can see myself getting something from them in the future for sure, probably in a brown colorway next time! The Woody backpack is interesting, but I just don't wear backpacks hardly ever. Usually don't need the extra space, and if I do, I go for an weekender duffel sort of bag.
