I am Hungarian, so I live in the country where this movie was made, and I am so happy it gets some international attention! It is one of the best animated movies I saw in a long time, a very unique reimagining of the Native American creation story with amazing symbolism and an important message.
Now, this is a film worth watching and giving the times that we’re living in, the indigenous people of America are finally being heard in all forms of media. I hope this one is, at least, a nominee mentioned in the next Oscars.
Assuming these questions are in good faith and some people just haven’t heard about this; for those asking what he means by “crying Italians”, look up “Iron Eyes Cody”. That wasn’t his real name, but you’ll find his story and what he did faster that way.
I studied at the same university where the director teaches. I saw early sketches and animations from him when he was presenting at the university for everyone to see. I've been obsessed with this movie ever since. As a lover of Native American culture, I was surprised to see that someone from my country, Hungary, would create an animated movie about it, no less. It was an honor to witness how it developed and how great it turned out, just as I secretly hoped. Watch if you can, you will LOVE the hell out of it.
This comment is remarkably similar to bot comments I’ll see promoting movies. They’ll all say it’s like x meets y with a bit of/smidge of z. I really hope I’m not accusing a person of being a bot. I’m sorry if you’re real. It’s just I think it’d be in poor taste if this Hungarian studio paid for someone to compare their movie to Disney’s Pocahontas
@@neverendinglute3125 I am a very real person. I chose something that most people of my generation would recognize being Pocahontas, then going with something mature like Tartakovsky’s Primal, and something similar like Wolfwalkers. This movie has themes like nature conservation and valuing life in general that the two movies and one tv show share in common.
FYI for anyone that wants to watch it, its available through two hungarian streaming platforms and they are linked to on the official website for the film
GOSH this looks amazing, definitely gonna save this for later! I wanna see a movie/show based on Coast Salish mythology someday as well, so I’ll keep on hoping that someone will make that.
Excellent stylized fluid animation and immersive sound design. Props to the creators. 👌 Looking forward to this and any more such beautiful works of art.
What does it say about my country that a fine movie dealing with the first Americans wasn't even made in America, and isn't even available for viewing in America?
This looks awesome! I love the artstyle, stylised but still has a sense of realism not overly cartoony. Not that being cartoony is bad just I prefer artstyles like this.
