As someone who has dabbled with computer music production I feel confident saying that Four Tet is a natural. He has something in his make up that just gets creating music this way. He makes it all sound effortless. The way he describes he works is exactly how I work. But I am rubbish at it.

He might have started at a different tempo, and used varispeed to speed/pitch up or down? there's a cool max device for that, and I usually end up with weird tempo values

this is an interview not a breakdown, the only thing I am impressed with is the fact that he uses just a few channels looking at the zoomed out arrangement

Not a complete detailed breakdown but he does breakdown parts of the project. A lot of the video is still a breakdown. He literally solo's tracks and describes how he made them
