Denfitly offensive play calls and just offense overall. We are playing teams with better offenses that may be a bit more of a struggle for the defense. But if the blackshirts show up, and our offense can score more points and make kicks. We can win 8+ games.
The huskeronline interview with Williams was epic. Very telling of how close the team is and how much they respect each other. It was a great moment that deserves to be shared and seen by millions. GBR!
The run game. I was watching Denver beat LV, which made me happy, but I also saw Ameer Abdullah rush up the middle for 3 yards. TOUCHDOWN. Made me a little nostalgic.
Defense played like juggernauts. Very, very impressed. Raiola was bad. Missing a lot of throws, not running when he can just get a few, and taking too many bad sacks. Step it up young man, we know you can play better.
We’ve seen the offense play very well. We’ve seen the defense play very well. When both sides of the ball play their best, we can beat anyone. Special teams should be an area of focus but feel good about it with time. Winning a one possession game against a great team was HUGE! GBR 🎈
Raiola has more of a touch arm than a rifle. It won’t surprise me if lots of wind causes issues for him this year and next. I was commenting about how his high school film never really showed him ripping a Brett Favre type fastball. He way prefers the touch passes which he’s great at.
I felt pretty frustrated and negative about the offenses first half at Purdue and second half against Rutgers. However, after clear thoughts about this team, I cannot help but feel good about +6 in turnover margin, 20 sacks, no rushing TDs against, 11.3 pts against per game, guys filling in well for the injured, freshman contributions, defense putting 4 quarters together, finding ways to win, trying but failing to shoot ourselves in the foot, offense helping the defense out and defense helping the offense out, resilience and my goodness a 5-1 record and a chance to get to 6 and a bowl, GBR!
The improvement needs to be in the run game. I never thought I'd say I feel comfortable with the pass game and very on edge about the run game for the huskers. Get a good run game and everything else falls into place. Except ST, there's no fixing that this season, maybe next year
im glad nebraska isnt ranked. hopefully that will give them the motivation to come out and beat indiana. it seems like this team plays their best football when they have an emotional edge, so maybe being snubbed from the top25 will give that chip on their shoulder they need.
I know we're probably not favored to win the next two games, but omg if we lose at Indiana and then lose at Ohio State, we'll be 5-3 just like last year, and I'll be sweating bullets going into the UCLA game. Indiana, to me, is a big of a must win game as Rutgers was.
With DR it wasn’t the weather IMO. In the 2nd half the wind/heat was less of a factor and that’s when he was flustered the most. The problem was Schiano… I’m an old school WVU fan from WV and I’ve seen many Schiano-led RU teams even from the old Big East days during his first go around there. He also is a legit ex NFL head coach from the NFC south who was game planning against a prime Cam Newton. His schemes are advanced and while all of our opponents have had a good game plan to get in the head of our 19 year old phenom, he has the staff and the dudes to pull it off… and he did. One of the biggest defensive challenges he’ll see this year, and he’ll learn from it. Look for the bounce back. GBR
The wind was pretty brutal, we got what we got, which was a dub. Rutgers struggled with the wind and heat. Our defense needed to step it up when our offense was struggling, that's why there called the black shirts. Mark my text when I say..we are going to beat alot more teams...including Ohio state. Just wait and see.
It's too early. Nebraska needs to continue to build. Better recruiting and continued player development. There is a talent deficit between Nebraska and every top 10 teem in America. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio St, Michigan, Rexas, Penn St and on and on.
If our offense plays 4 quarters and the blocking upfield is competent for the whole game..... Sky's the limit. But they have to keep scoring if they get a lead. It just looks like they stop scoring on purpose. I'd put it out of reach.
I've never seen one of our punters get brutalized that bad and then he played his best game he'll probably ever play. That's not a punter. Straight up good football player. I've been telling everyone watch out for James Williams this year and the surprise really great player C. Wright. I dont think we should take him off the field. Maybe move Buford in a starting safety spot and bring Tommy back as the other corner?
Satterfield’s play calling is the issue. It’s been the issue and it will continue to be the issue. He’s too predictable and he abandons the run in favor of passing far too often. He played right into Schiano’s hand in the second half and you could tell Dylan knew it. The image of Dylan (absolutely getting the play on his headset) and shaking his head like he was dejected before getting ready to snap the ball is seared into my mind.
Satterfield seems to love flat routes with the eligible receiver winding up receiving behind the line of scrimmage and getting TFLed. I was screaming at the TV every time they did it.
