Another thing about early voting is that if you've already voted, you can proudly declare you did to your friends in the hopes that motivates them. Modeling behavior is really powerful, especially when it's personal.

Agreed! People are like sheep, especially voters who are what I call "no information" voters, as opposed to "low information." At the 10 year mark what more do people need to see from Trump? He's the worst President in history or at least modern US history. I don't understand how the polls are this close. People believe, despite opposing facts, Trump was better on the economy. Trump inherited Obama's economy. Biden inherited Trump's mess, like Obama inherited Bush's disaster.

Speaking of Obama, I recently went back and watched his victory speech from the 2008 election. And it was one of the greatest speeches that I have ever seen and it truly lived up to the historic moment that his election was. If Kamala Harris wins this election, it will be just as historic of a moment. She would be the first woman elected as the President of the United States. I hope that she has a great victory speech written, because it is a moment that will live forever in our nation's history.

I loved Stu's point about walking with a swagger, with the confidence of winners. And also Simon tying that point on swagger to the Trump '16 campaign. Simon's bringing up of how many "unprecedenteds" that the Harris campaign has to navigate was also fantastic. Such a truncated length, with a remarkably hostile opposition, and the wild media environment... it's just bananas 🍌 Delightful discussion, I'm always excited to tune in

Wonderful discussion. Loved it. I share the comparative strengths the Harris campaign has. Yet, with all those advantages especially the favorability, why are the polls still so tight?? Scares me to death !! 😢

I have been donating to the swing states Democratic Party and now to Colin Allred in Texas, he’s a great candidate, might be able to take down Ted Cruz. Read Allred’s bio, he is very impressive, from professional football to UC Berkeley law to public services. The kind of leader we need in the Senate not Ted Cruz. This is the first time I have donated this way, feel the urgency to get rid of not only Trump but MAGA Republicans because they are causing too much chaos.

@@martisalvato7365 If you're well versed in the issues, PA has had and will have the most money poured into it (almost all disinfo) of any presidential race ever. So that's where things are most important. Idk if there are geographical ease of doing it reasons that could make one of the other places a better target. I'll leave that to someone else to fill in.

What about Georgia? Will their election board's decision to count votes manually be overturned in time? There is so much going on this week that I haven't heard any updates beyond the first judge's ruling to uphold their decision.

If you want to do something useful after early voting, you can enlist to help the campaign's get out the vote efforts. Sometimes it's as simple as sending a few dozen "Remember to go vote" postcards.

I think one of the other important things is if you vote early you can free your own mind to volunteer and (maybe, I'm not sure how this works) let the campaign target you as a potential new volunteer.

I printed out my ballot, because there are 42 issues on it, and Colorado mailing doesn't start until Oct 11. At least I can get my selections ready for when the actual ballot arrives. Besides the assorted judges wanting to be reelected, like you see in probably every state, there are twenty or so propositions and amendments to vote on. Oofda.

We need 1 more Democratic Representative from every state! The Pew Research I saw says only six states have both a Dem and Rep Senator. All the others have two senators from the same party. That means that only half of the population in each state have no representation in the US Senate. It may be 50/50 but the wrong way. Every state should be purple.

I feel so exhausted. I am German and since nine years now I am concerned about Trump and his movement. I am watching with disbelief that nearly half of your population has fallen for his clearly fascist rhetoric. Now there are only a few weeks left to an election who could be the beginning of a dark and sinister time without humanity and freedom, not only for you Americans, but for us here in Europe ,too. I fear about the future of my sons, for the young generation. Trump and his enablers will never accept a loss in the election. There will be massive violence and I hooe you are prepared for it. January 6th was no surprise for me, it was crystalclear that there would be a coup. This time it will be so much worse, I am really scared.

Let me point out there has been next to no actual, as opposed to online, violence since Jan 6 riot. Trump called for mass protests at his first indictment in NYC. The turn out was so low, despite lots of Trump voters nearby, he never did it again. There were no crowds at the other three indictments, and none at his trial in NYC. And there have been two, yes, two, violent attacks, one on Paul Pelosi and one on an FBI office, by lone individuals. So, so far, the violence remains just really nasty online harrassment. We probably won't see mass violence if Trump loses, just administrative sabotage in some states (which will be illegal).
