I think Whitebeard and Kuma are awakened as well as the Impel Down beast guards. WB could quake the air, Kuma could repel concepts like pain, and we were told the beast guards were awakened and extra tough (but it’s so early on that we have no idea what it means)

Totally agree with you Heisuten. I think Luffy based it off his experience as Nightmare Luffy. Originally he figured out he could expand like a balloon by simply inhaling. Then he figured out that he could inflate his bones. Once he inflated the bones he figured out he could transfer the air from bones to bones through the ligaments. (of course you're not actually going to see the bones because of the periosteum. In Thriller Bark Luffy had the shadows forced into him which expanded him generally regardless of material. He would've felt the difference between this and his own stretching ability and then figured a way to apply it himself. Not only that, but did you notice the Kong Gun? Just like way back in Water 7 when Luffy assimilated CP9's advanced martial arts and improved on them; he's done the exact same to Bellamy. He's taken Bellamy's spring abilities and massively improved upon them by making a massive haki strengthened spring and compressing that in order to send his fist flying like a catapault. Or at least that's my interpretation of it. Gear fourth was perfect man. I knew I was expecting Oda to make something absolutely hilarious and yet somehow so badass and awesome. I have no idea how he consistently manages to do that; that shit normally ruins characters in other series but Oda can just keep slapping us in the face with it and we'll ask for more. Sheer excitement and none of the disappointment. Goes beyond expectations in all ways. Edit: forgot python was there, dudes using an improved CP9's shave technique... with his fucking wrist. Edit: with bone balloon, it's easier for Luffy because the jet of air pushes his rubbery muscle out of the way like your finger would but goes past the porous surface bone. With muscle, he actually has to bite and hold the muscle in between his teeth so the air doesn't go push it out the way but goes into it. He can't really turn it off because he's using the haki to compress the air to help add tension. If he lets go of the pressure then the air will shoot out.

Usopp freaking out is something that happens fairly often in the manga. That said, it’s very rare it gets a panel to itself. It’s usually contained within a larger panel that has more dialogue from other characters.

It is pretty hard to not love Heisuten. Man, the guy not just remembers Captain Kuro, but he also talks mentioning One Piece info. Heisuten truly became a strawhat!

"Why is it red?" Gear 2 focus on increasing blood circulation and speed. Gear 3 is for strength and destructive power. Well, Luffy's gear 4 is a mixture of both, speed and strength. The strength portion comes from armament haki which is the standard black color across all haki users, but because of Luffy's rubber body property, he can keep his body flexible even while it is imbued with armament haki, which it's implied with the red color, much like in gear 2. This makes him strong, yet bouncy, hence the man.

Its amusing to consider that Luffy has been capable of this ever since his training, but this is the first enemy after the time skip that he's taken seriously enough to use this much power against :D

I only just noticed that some Gear 4th moves have animals in their names, which is probably the beast that he used them on. Kong on a big gorrila, Rhino Schneider for a Rhino, then you have other moves like Culverin which follows his usual gun themed names like “pistol” or “magnum”

Doflamingo's reinforcing his entire body with his strings every time Luffy hits him. Whatever gets through that, he heals by simply holding himself together long enough. Even if you were to say, shatter his body underneath the string reinforcement, he's gonna stay in one piece (no pun intended) no matter what, all the way up until he stops breathing. Maybe past that (I dunno, maybe the strings move the air for him?)

You’ve already seen DF awakenings, just didn’t know it. The demon guards in Impel Down are awakened Zoans. Punk Hazard is the results of two awakened logia users, I personally believe that Enies Lobby is the result of an awakened gravity or light fruit users, along with that island that’s being constantly bombarded by lightning, and I’d argue that Crocodile is an awakened user as well since he was able to decay that palace into sand

I love that OP is goofy while being serious and powerful. It's like real life. I feel like many smart people are forced to this "serious" mode to be seen as intelligent. Same with strength. Why doesn't goofy fit with smart or badass? I think the goofyness makes Luffy way more scary. Imagine you had a goofy opponent like that, it would actually be scary, seriously. When you have a goofy enemy it almost feels like a playground for them. It becomes obvious how little they care about appearances, which highlights how much they specced to things that actually matter.

In case of paramythia it doesn't have much side affect but in case of zoan the following animal eventually takes control over the body. in case of zoan they don't change surroundings but instead they become the reincarnation of animal itself

Doffy's durability is fucking insane. He is doing all of this while using bird cage, WHILE repairing his organs from Law's deadly attack. If he wasn't doing all this, I think Doffy would've done even better against Gear 4th

@Heisuten Doflamingo is constantly healing himself and the dull red color is weaker than dull purple bright red is stronger than dull purple colored haki so it seems and luffy blew haki into his body causing his devil fruit to get stronger, if you remember when the pattern formed you could see his devil fruit in the background and it looks just like the devil fruits pattern.

The introduction of G4 is kinda like a hint to G5
