I noticed a distinct lack of mentioning why the officers that run Basgaiath are dumb enough to needlessly kill off their own human resources and spend more time training dragon riders than the U.S military spends training airmen. I wonder why that might be.
Honestly I found Violet very relatable. And her journey felt very personal. Loved it ❤ and loving these videos of yours 💞 romantasy fantasies do need booksplanations like these ❤❤❤
i finished the book 2 weeks ago, almost a week of constant reading at night when i had the time and lacking sleep because of reading and i´m still not over it yet! i´m not into romance at all but i gotta say, despite of it being too explicit and descriptive and being given too much importance at times compared to the actual story, that sometimes lacked some sense or was explained too fast, i ended up becoming obsessed with this book and i can´t wait for the second one to release where i live (spain) in february. I love fantasy and dragons and magic and this has all of those things. I´m not into romance like i said, i normally think it is cringy and idealized and trust me when i say i´ve encountered people that suffer from the don quijote effect and think real life relationships should be exactly as they read them in books... and although some of the things of their relationship felt forced and cringy sometimes and being so explicit was not necessary in my opinion when the focus is dragons and war, it was handled pretty well. Yes, some parts of the story were lacking and from what i´ve heard the second one suffers from that too, the protagonists argued for stupid reasons, AND the school kept loosing students not only because they were weak and the dragons wouldn´t choose them, but because they weren´t strapped to a saddle like violet, when they should be...thanks xaden for your intelligence hahahahah, but overall i think it deserves the hype and it´s sooooo damn good. Everyone has their own opinion and it is as easy to hype something already popular up, as it is to hate on it because it´ll give as many views, like some people do, but to each their own of course, even us who loved it don´t like certain aspects of it and we have different opinions on what we do or we don´t like about it. I can´t wait to read the second one and come here to say something about it, damn february why aren´t you coming faster?
It's so cute that you think the war was supposed to be the main plot. What, was the sheer incompetence of Navarre's top brass not enough of an indication that no one reads this for the worldbuilding or fantasy elements? No, they read this book to be told Xaden is attractive every other page and absolutely no other reason. Not even the dragons no matter what Tiktok thots tell themselves.
