Cats are one of the most pound-for-pound ferocious animals. Anytime my dog wants to try and intimidate one, I pull her away: "That not a prey, baby; That's a predator."
The paw swipes of FELINES are overrated. They do help keep opponents at bay if their opponents are not determined to kill them and is not fully invested in the fight. But the paw swipes of FELINES are not enough to keep a relentless opponent at bay. I have seen DOGOS and PITBULLS totally bypass a FELINE'S paw swipe and take a few scratches to get a good bite on the FELINE and then start shaking the FELINE violently. Because when it comes to all predators with or without sharp claws, the final killing always comes down to the good bite of the jaws on the vulnerable part of their opponents neck. And that is something that both CANINES and FELINES are capable of doing. FELINES have the initial advantage because they have sharper claws, but the final killing always comes down to the JAWS.
That may be true but a Cats claws are nowhere near lethal and their Bite Force in Pounds per Square Inch is incomparable to a Fox. A cat's true weapon is intimidation. If that fails it's gone...
@@JuanMendoza-qd5lm Possibilty that fox catches a cat is nearly 0. Maybe young or sick cat but not healthy and adult. Male healthy cat is really dangerous for fox.
Clearly that Fox has never met a Cat before... all that lurching forwards trying to intimidate the cat into responding and opening itself up... Cat: Meh!
Clearly this fox preys on cats and was looking for his next meal. This cat is likely just old enough to defend itself and only because of the fact that it was on a roof and able to keep the Fox from circling him. The Fox almost certainly has eaten younger cats and kittens in the area. Suburban, ex-urban, and urban coyotes and foxes are literally starting to specialize in preying on cats and small dogs. This behavior is becoming so prevalent that they are starting to consider classifying urban and suburban coyotes as a splinter group from the species since they have developed entirely different prey and hunting tactics from their rural cousins.
I have cats and foxes at the back of my house for years and I have seen this behaviour before and it was over food what I put out for them the cat was eating the food and the fox wanted it and was rushing at the cat trying to scare it off the food but the cat stud it's ground and Finnish the food off ha
Fox trying to get the cat to run so fox can bite the neck from behind. Cat having none of that and is looking to scratch the snout and eyes of the fox.
i used to have a large male Tom cat that would stare down large German shepherds - they'd insist on crossing the street rather than walk past him lounging on the sidewalk
Yeah i had a Russian blue tom, he was the most charming handsome chad of a cat, but he was also 16lbs of pure muscle and a mean son of bitch to boot. Complete brawler didn't realy hunt prey. But he finnished every fight that came his way, more than once it was a fox.
Sister had a tabby cat and a small rescue dog which was very active. One day she was sitting on the couch watching tv with the cat curled up asleep on the floor at her feet. Meanwhile the dog was tossing his hide chew up in the air and catching it as it landed. The chew landed in front of the cat, who without stirring slid out a paw over the chew. The dog whined and gurned but did not dare approach the cat.
The fox’s tactic was to lure the cat into a full forward defensive launch where it could then counter with it’s increased size and weight with a bite in a vulnerable and damaging way using the cat’s committed lighter weight momentum against itself. Cat was still tactically wayyyyy ahead of that fox’s cunning ploy. Felines are apex for a reason.
Cat was lucky to occupy the most beneficial defensive position on the edge of the roof. Fox was unable to assist it without risk to fall down... otherwise cat was smashed in one spurt.
the fox want play and imitate a bit the cat. the cat is a bit frightend but not much, you can see her hair is up - she want play too - you can see it about her tail is shaking down like happy
Looked to me like the fox was just curious or playing, i think if the fox was hungry enough it would easily eat the cat , but looks like the fox is in a urban area with plenty of food
The cats and foxes around me are at war I regularly hear fight sounds, quite different from 2 cats. I wonder sometimes if it's because so closely matched. Nether instinctively knows to run?
The fox is trying to get the cat to run that's when he does his most damage I watched a raccoon one time fight off a coyote he was doing good until he turned around and tried to run then it was all over
Кот на своей территории. И он чертовски смел! Моему коту лиса прокусила лапу и загнала на высокое дерево, где он орал на макушке. Полдня не мог спуститься.
Cat's fine, the fox wanted the eggs I put out in the garden but it couldn't get to them because the cat was guarding his normal route. Note that the fox is at least twice the size of the cat and the cat had nowhere to run if the fox went for it. Foxes are normally to clever to attack a cat.
It gets there from the back wall and from the fences between gardens also there's a set of steps I built for my cat which can be seen in my fox and cat again video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LESwPQfQkS8.html
