Fox is one of the most proficient knife companies I ever saw. Seems that when someone wants a high quality knife they ask Fox and Fox delivers flawlessly.
Great review! I have been collecting Fox knives for a couple of years. Have a couple of dozen and my appetite for this company's knives is still strong. Every one of Fox's knives are a rock solid work of art in my opinion. You may pay a little more, but you get a knife that is going to do what it is designed for and will last a lifetime.
I love the Bantay. I have one, and the ergonomics of it, the way it melts in the hand in all the different grips, the huge agressive belly, the ultra sharp tip .. It truly is a knife designed to be a weapon, and nothing else
WOW, nice collection. I met Mike haging out at the bar in Planet Hollywood at the G3 convention. He told me about losing his eye grinding steel. He even pulled out his glass eye...not at my request. Hello Mike if you read this. Definately great knives.
Dude! You have some of MY all-time Favs there, buddy! I LOVE-me some FOX knives as well....N690Co ROCKS too. That SR-11 looks bad-ASS! Love the sweep of that grip...just screams out "Reverse-Grip THIS!" LOL....fixed blade Profili is one of the most beautiful LOOKING knives ever, I HAVE to have one! And the Kuku Hanuman?? Dats the Bomb-Diggety, yo! Haha...I am jealous, Sensei! Great work! Thanks again
@thebetterbob - They use the titanium to make the knife lighter overall, it also cannot rust, and it is less rigid than the steel so the knife can take more lateral stress without breaking. The steel is used for the edge because its harder so it will stay sharp longer.
Fox Knives Rocks!!! Indeed I love Italy... Fox Knives, Extrema Ratio Knives, Lion Steel Knives, lamborghini, Ferrari and my prefered filmmaker the director Dario Argento
This knife with the dual material blade is sick, they are not hard to get in Europe but they are expensive. It's 159 Euros here ($210).I cant wait for the review.
Sensei, happy to see that the fox has bitten you! I just had the Bantay and I think is the best fighter I have, together with the Profili. Great video as usual.
Thanks, bro! 1. SOG Vulcan Tanto. 2. Haven't tried it, but I am a fan of Brian Tighe. 3. Depends on the size you want, but the CRKT Hissatsu Folder and Cold Steel G10 Espadas are very good. Or, if you want to go more expensive, the Microtech Socom Elite.
Thanks! I just shot a review of the composite nero nighthawk, it should be up this week or next. I like TOPS also, going to try to review the Mil Spie 3 and Mil Spie 5 when I can.
@JD4TH3WIN - The Profili folder is around $120 (so about the same as a Spyderco Military). The fixed blade Profili is $150, comes with a nice sheath tho.
I have the MTF-1... I've had it several years, sharpened at one time, put it through hell, and it will still shave the hair off your arms... This is the most comfortable knife I've ever held in my hand... The durability is second to none you can tell that you got what you paid for with this knife it's my EDC. I love the Deep carry on it, and you can flip it out like butter... This knife could cut a god... Boy they are expensive, but you get what you pay for... I want to get the Doug Marcaida Karambit that self opens when you pull it out of your pocket.
i wouldve thought the combative edge is a Lionsteel production and the composite blade a Kershaw but not so; those cheeky Fox guys get all the CEO's good an drunk an nekkid in one big loving pile I guess. Crossovers by Fox all over the place, even a small custom maker like hill knives from the Netherlands did that afghan commemorative fighting knife. Italian men... WAJK Thanks 4 the laid-back-slasherguy type reviews on the right knives again, you're my 1st go-to for extra details plus a smile!
Hey, Israel. I thought there was a review of the TOPS Magnum knife. Can't find it now. I would like to thank you for that review and for the tipping off about this excellent knife. I've just got mine but the clip point one. Thank you. :-)
I just recently purchased the Fox Cutlery Bellum Daga and man that is a vicious dagger. Very solid construction, tip is stronger than i thought and handle gives a good grip. Edges are fairly dull but in a blade like this i think it doesn't matter that much. For a civilian like me dagger like this has no real use but i just had to get it although it was pretty expensive (250€ so around 320$)
@deceptivepanther - Yeah the Bantay is very interesting, it has a lot of tricks it can do. I also like the Profili/Kimura II blade shape, it is like a dagger but with some close cutting ability maximized. I think the LAWKs are a good feature, most Fox knives have them, makes it slightly less worrisome if a stab is necessary.
considering the blades you own and have held. Saying "this is the SHARPEST folder I've ever recieved" is a BIG statement. WOW...Now I need to check my wallet for cash.
You're right, that has been a consistent problem. The Profilis I got from New Graham. The Bantay and Nighthawk I got from AtoZ knives, whose website now seems to be on vacation indefinitely.
When I look at my sp53, sp8, Crusader or Retribution I hear you chopping/smashing on a pallet. The echo of truth. I got Fox Parang and loved it but hated the handle. Still love it though. I got the fx-133, used it to chop through a 7 inch log in minutes. Bends during extreme splitting, doesn't break. Possibly the best "survival " knife for the money. $195
I'm sure by now you've secured the Fox Knives 520 Desert Fox and SPECWOG ACE folder and or fixed blade and possibly upgraded to the 599 Karambit. The SPECWOG and Karambit are signature peices from different masters in their knife fighting styles. Their names escape me but the Spec Ops War Group guy has a youtube channel. Check out his tomahawk fighting video. He looks invincible. You're collection is very impressive my friend. We appreciate the same things!
Actually I have interested in this company for a while, they really have a lot designs that I interested in, like the Stealth fixed blade, has a carbon fiber and titanium cumpound blade. But sadly those that I love most are also the ones that out of my budget renge... Again thanks for the review.
Nah, the SR-11 will work for both righties and lefties :] That's true, the Tyrade and Rake also are composite, but two steels, only the Cobol is steel-titanium :D
You might want to check out the Deimos. NeptuneKnives does a test on it and it looks to be tank like. It's just a hair longer than the cqt magnum for size comparison
I like very much FOX knives, after Cold Steel is my favourite knife brand. Really high quality knives at rigth price. Maybe in US is a little overwiew for the high price tag due the change of dollar/ euro
Israel the SR11 has micarta only on one side and since your a lefty would that affect your grip? Kershaw junkyard dog is a model that uses 2 different metals to make the blade and the jigsaw puzzle joining of 2 metals looks quite similiar to the Night hawk cobol titan. Just my observation, Thanks.
That's a nice collection! Currently I only own the g10 folding karambit (great knife, feels like a fixed knife when open) when it comes to this company, but I've been thinking about getting more. Do you buy these from their site or somewhere else?
I would love to learn more about the Bantay and can't wait for your review. Normally I am not attracted to such flamboyant designs (it does look a bit like it's fallen out of a Klingon's pocket) yet there is an impressive underlying aura of functionality to this piece. From what I can gather its Filipino Kali inspired via Slovenian special-forces - eclectic and bad ass! Love the Profilis also. They’ve got a blade shape like a Kimura on steroids. Do you rate LAWKS type locks?
They seem similar to crkt, maybe slightly more expensive. I was thinking the index craters were for bow drills... I guess that really wouldn't make be logical on a tactical folder lol. Very informative video.
Dude, when are you going to review the Fox Bantay? Very cool looking knife. How many oz does it weigh? Review, review, review! Thanks buddy. Happy New Year!
Riccardo Bugelli
I have a deep appreciation of knives, however, I'm almost completely ignorant about the variety and the point behind such a variety. What is the benefit of having a duet of metal? i.e. the Night Hawk Cobalt Titan
i have a knife from blackfox, witch i think is the same company. BF-78, really cool knife and opening makes you almost think its an assisted. they have really awesome designs but all the good ones are pretty expensive or hard to find witch sucks. awesome vid man.
I just brought home a Italian national police issue "Carabinieri" fox knife I bought in Frosolone Italy from Rocco. I can't find any info here in the states.
Nice looking tomahawks! I suppose you use them for throwing? I just picked up a new knife from Fox called the Hector. Very unusual knife in that the blade is exposed when the knife is folded. It does not sit inside a frame. You have to be very careful when handling the knife, but it does deploy and close fairly quickly. The blade steel is N690Co and the edge is razor sharp, of course. It is very thin and light but also strong considering. Right hand, tip down carry only. Check it out!
Does anybody actually carry Fox knives? New Graham has a grand total of two models! I checked a bunch of other online retailers and i can't find anything. I've checked the Fox websites (Italian and American) they have some interesting designs but if you can't actually get them then it doesn't really matter. Do you know any retailers with Fox knives?
