In this video I get out to fish some Fox River walleyes (2019) from shore in hopes of catching a nice fish! Here I am fishing out of Voyager Park in DePere, Wisconsin with Rippin Raps. Brad and I caught some cookie cutter walleyes and had a great time doing it!

That was me in the boat u saw 👍 the day before when it was windy. Blue Alumacraft. 3 guys. We caught over 20 and lost about 20 in 5.5 hours of fishing. We got two 24's and a bunch in the 20-22 range. No giants. My brother was throwing the same rippin rap u were lol. We were the only boat covering a ton of water on drifts and using the trolling motor. Barely anyone else was catching anything at all. They were all fishing too deep and just about everyone was anchored up. Glad we were able to inadvertently help u out 👊😉

Really?? You guys totally helped us out! I was thinking of trying a rippin rap and as soon as I noticed you guys were getting them on that I decided it was time to try it. Hopefully you don't mind, but we basically mimicked what you guys were doing because you were the only ones getting bit haha! I think you also turned the other boat nearby on to what you were doing because I also saw them get a few doing the same thing. Props to you boys; you are the reason I was able to make this vid! @@DCBronzies don't mind at all. One of the main reasons I started my channel was to help other people out. Its kinda what I do lol. But the cadence was key. Slower than usual with the pauses on the bottom 😉 we figured it out early, caught 4 right away, and then took an early lunch break when the wind started to pick up. Came back 2 hours later and just pounded em for 3 hours until I had to head back home (I live in southern Wisconsin). No giants but it was fun. It's still early. Itll only get better. I'm gonna try to sneak up one more day yet this year if I can. Great vid man. I just subbed. Appreciate if you'd check out my channel 👍

Bite is usually pretty bad when that's the case. Fish can't see anything so it gets pretty tough to get them to eat.

What time of the year and day do you recommend going there? I just want to avoid all the boat traffic and many other anglers.

It is always busy in the spring time. People fish during the day and many will fish all night. Basically, you have to fight the crowds.

In the spring you can't avoid them. If you get there early enough you should be able to "lay claim" to a spot. In the fall if you go around 4pm most of the guys won't show up until the sun begins to set.

I have had the best luck using Live minnows or keitech artificial minnows threaded onto a 1/4 or 1/8 oz depending on the river speed that day. I'll then drag it across the bottom. I'll have a 7' pole rigged up with high vis yellow braid + fluro leader. Rippin raps are certainly harder to lose compared to bottom dragging at this park! You are almost certain to get caught up. Live in Appleton, but have fished here 3 or 4 times. Biggest I caught here was 26 using the above method. Others were mostly in the 20-22 range.

Those were some nice fish! My biggest spring walleye ever came on a rattlin' rap from shore. Getting excited for fall 'eyes!

We didn't keep any. It's not legal to keep more than 1 fish under 28” right now anyway. Wouldn't want to eat anything out of there either!
