Aww man, I was hoping to watch you struggle for 3 episodes making or installing a new wiring harness, that was too easy!! JK brother, you needed a good break. Looking sweet!
Haha, so, next video, i show this, because once fired up i had no afr signal, looked at the wiring diagram again and realized I needed to ground the brown one.
@@allenhoward9379 Yeah one of those things...I didnt realize it was not reading until come time to fire it up and get it running. Quickly learned the O2 was not sending data to the ECU.
Dude!!!!!! Thank you so much for this video. This is the exact setup I've been planning to do. I've been worried about getting the micro squirt but now thanks to your video I'm so going through with it. Keep up the amazing videos
Heck yeah! Man im still learning it and its great to have someone near who understands it. Justin91lx just tuned my car. Id like to do another video with him just on the changes he made on my setup. We spent most the time getting idle right because when my fan kicks on it causes a slight surge
@@HOUSEOFDULA that would be awesome!!! I really hope you do make a video with home tuning your car. Like a tutorial so we won't be in the dark on how to use the software
heads up dula remember your still using your old 25 year old wiring , the microsquirt just plugs in where the old computer used to be, mine works great but I have ben having wire gremlins poping up because of old wiring , I might just go to holley dominator because they replace everything just a reminder brother looks great wwwwweeeeeeeeeeee ha
Not sure if you posted this already, but would you be open into sharing the base tune? You have inspired me to blow the dust off my mustang project which is the same setup (single turbo, stock motor, megasquirt). Keep posting vids!
Nice car and great information! I've just started my on3 76mm BMF install. Do you have the measurements on your air cooler bracket you made? I would love to put that setup on my car! Thanks!
I've got almost the same set up but can't get my laptop to talk to the microsquirt. I'm using the usd to db9 serial cable adapter the they sell on tunerstudio website. But get a no controller found message. Do u have any suggestions
Try a few different USB ports, and use auto detect to try all Com ports. You can also manually set the com parameters like baud rate to 115200 This is old but check here around the middle of the page for some Serial troubleshooting. www.msextra.com/~msextra/doc/ms2extra/serial_setup.html
Really enjoying the series! One question for you. Whats in the plans for A/C control. Are they on their own circuit or does the ecu control the compressor and fan?
Yes and no. Ecu does not turn ac on. Thats all independent from switches on the dash. What the ecu does do is idle up when the compressor kicks on. I just have to run a wire from my ac compressor to the ecu that tells it its on, and the micro can be programed to idle up when it sees input from that wire
Did you use 1/8 or 1/4 inch silicon vacuum lines? Thanks for the in-depth install, man. Really appreciate it as someone who'll be starting their install this coming weekend.
I ordered my Wideband and gonna order my microsquirt soon. Do I need both oe or sensors or are they both replaced by the 1 wide band? The car is an 86gt:)
Just need one. For me since i went turbo i only really need 1. Your good with one just know if anything goes crazy with the opposite bank, you wont know. Most dudes run a single o2 wideband
Nope not with this ecu. It can run MAF or speed density. Its pretty common to ditch MAF with aftermarket ECUs, especially with boost. But, NA all you need is this tuner! No need to source a MAF sensor, harness etc.
Is the microsquirt the best route also for a supercharger application? I have an 87 gt with speed density. I'm aobut to install a vortech v3 on her. Should I go microsquirt or the classic route (maf conversion and tune)? Thanks and keep up the awesome work! 🤘🤘
Amazon. I just searched Serial USB adapter. Its a sabrent. Cheap. Only issue I had was using this on a newer laptop with a USB 3.0 port , I moved the port to a USB 2.0 port and it worked fine. www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Converter-Prolific-Chipset-CB-DB9P/dp/B00IDSM6BW/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=Serial+USB+adapter&qid=1570029524&s=gateway&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEySFAxNzhYUDBLQ1o2JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDk1MjEyM1JCTDRaVldMNlNYSyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODAxMjQ1SUgxMVFDVThOSFBFJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
Simple answer. Yes. Absolutely lol. If you want Turbo, you want Turbo though. I was up to the challenge. Boost is effectively more efficient since not crank driven though. Doesnt take HP to make more HP. They both are great though. Boost is fun no matter, I personally always wanted a turbo fox.
I did. Its a bit more $$$ in fact almost double if I remember right, and not much gain. The only thing you really get is more I/O for accessories....which would be nice to have a few extra ports to wire some warning lights, control the fan, etc..
Doesn’t the micro use your stock ecm and you just tune that ?? The mega totally replaces the ecm correct?? I’m trying to decide if I want to save some cash or maybe buy the mega and sell my a9l
