Depending on where you are based, should you fancy a nice day rideout, then head to Foxton Locks, home to Britain's longest set of staircase locks. The canal inclined plane lies on the Leicester line of the Grand Union Canal about 5km west of Market Harborough. There's a café and ice cream parlours and bar, and plenty of seating areas.
