Lacquering was the application of hard transparent layer on emulsion side of film, with which most damages also disappear.

De meeste films (acetaat) gaan dit effect vertonen bij te warm opslaan of wanneer ze niet goed gelakt waren. Het zogenaamde lakken werd vroeger gedaan om kabels (niet door emulsie) en beregening ongedaan te maken.
