I use to like playing rotating 4.5m keepers but I always end up benching the wrong player when it's a 50/50 and I hate seeing keeper points on my bench! Now I just have 1 keeper and a dud 4.0m there rotting away on the bench, and I'm happy with having to make one less decision every game week!
Years ago I used to rotate keepers and since stopping would never recommend it. Clean sheets often come from nowhere and no matter how poor the opponent conceding one is always possible. I recommend with goalkeepers to pick one and stick until first wild card then jump on the most in form defence. People often overlook how streaky defences and clean sheets are but a hot defence is much like a hot attacker in that they rack up points week on week. I usually use the deputy of the GK i pick as my deputy if he is 4.0.
Another excellent video and it's helped me with updating my draft as I I've been looking at rotating a couple of players, especially players from Arsenal and Newcastle.
I will never get this argument that having an option = a selection headache. I do like having a GK option and it only costs you £0.5M. It's great being able to drop your main guy to the bench for MCI(A). Sure your bench option may outscore the other but if you beat yourself up over mistakes in FPL, you'll end up black and blue. Most importantly, you're covered for knocks and loss of form which would otherwise force you into a GK transfer.
Hey Raptor, these videos all make sense and represent the wisdom of how we've always played. But don't you think that with the pricing this season most of these are moot? You can have big at the back, 2 premiums and an 8.0 MF, which means straight away you have 8 players from top 5 teams (I'm not including Man U at this point). I have 9 in my starting XI if Cucurella moves to City.
Great content! New as of late last season. Rotated keepers. Thinking of spending more and going with one. Love the content on flexibility but that seems to be my struggle. Big in the back. Salah and Bowen. 1 Striker. But missing out on Chillwell and or James and that worries me. Help please anyone 🙏
Also possible! Although utilising 2 or 3 transfers in the first 10 GWs on cheap players might not be optimal if you can start in GW1 with a good rotation
