Dude you are a legend for this, I honestly had my GPS set wrong, and I did lose my Nazgul in Norway and my BOB57 in Madeira, so I am hoping I don't lose another again. I will test my GPS to see if it works for me on my new setup. Thanks
I would not recommend showing people how to setup Drones with Betaflight 4.3 - the GPS RTH is not accurate at all and really unreliable compared to BF 4.4/4.5. With 4.4/4.5, RTH is very similar to DJI Mavic’s where the quad will land at your feet, normally only a couple of ft from your takeoff position. I don’t recommend using BF 4.3 if you want reliable RTH ❌
Agree with sentiment, although 4.4 also has major GPS rescue problems, and several spectacular rescue failures in the wild prompted the rewrite we see in 4.5. I wouldn't fly anything below 4.5 now, but this is hard for manufacturers to stomach given that it's not in stable release. We're in a bit of an awkward spot in Betaflight history with known serious issues that haven't been stably fixed.
Well done Danny .. nice and clear advice and a well structured video . Thanks for going into beta flight with the DJI controller because there is not that many which are nice and clear to follow. Hope all is well
I dont know if you have balls out of steel or is it just recklessness. Imagine setting your drone up wrong and you have a flyaway inside you room. You ABSOLUTELY should not "test" your drone inside.
I'm really suprised that there are so many "way to go danny" comments under this video. doing a first hover test, ON A 7 INCH, no less, inside is incredibly dangerous. I wonder if he would pay the hospital bill for someone following this "guide" that slashed their face or some other serious bodily injury, due to this absolutely horrendous advice? And, yes I see the disclamer, however, this is aimed at noobs, who won't learn to build or properly set up betaflight. Mistakes WILL happen.
Do u ever have the issue where your controller cuts out even when video is fine like others have had with running that remote or do u lock it in 2.4 or 5.8ghz to fix it?
Hi, thanks for all the advice, I want to get into fpv and have asked question on previous vids but I am not sure about the voltage and i am not sure how i would know when to bring the quad back and what it really means?
Dude, there are a ton of videos on YT about this and many other beginner topics related to FPV. I would suggest starting with Joshua Bardwell. Matt Pochwat also has fantastic beginner information on his channel. But, basically, a lipo battery can usually be charged up to 4.2 volts per cell and discharged down to around 3.0 volts per cell. However, you should probably start coming in between 3.7 and 3.5 volts per cell. I highly recommend beginners listen to actual FPV guys instead of filmmakers who learned how to fly FPV to get cool shots. A lot of the advice in this video is extremely unsafe and will cause someone to lose body parts.
I keep having a problem connecting my remote to Beta flight, my drone connects to both my V2 and my Dji radio 2 but I’m not able to see my remote settings on betaflight, when I push or pull the throttle nothing happens.
I created a little cup, fast lid, and clip system. The clip snaps onto most drones and it holds the sealed cup and lid. The cup and lid is for farting into and capturing the moment. Next clip the cup onto the drone and deliver the fart to your favorite person anywhere within range of your drone. Problem Solved and the future is looking bright for all concerned.
Man, i wouldn't call this a guide / tutorial at all, you glance over multiple things, some of them essential like stage 1 failsafe settings, missing modes, etc. But to each his own I guess.
Do you ever have trouble with your goggles disconnecting and then your controller as well? I’m kinda scared to fly quads with straight DJI cuz if your goggles disconnect you basically crash
Great timing on this video! just starting to get into FPV drones with this same setup and this video helped out alot!!!! keep up the great content and get those LUTS OUT!!!!!
