I like that the Falcon finished with a Sprint badge, the model before the first GT and the model after the last GT. A good way to bookend an Aussie legend, kinda poetic
Well I have a super pursuit ute 2007 and I can tell you the 2016 fgx xr8 halls arse over any engine package other than the Miami. Great car I luv it. Especially now with a 4.0 litre Whipple under the bonnet. Now it's crazy but even stock it absolutely smokes the 5.4. Even with a harrop supercharger on the ute the Miami stock is on par with with the 5.4. Trust me the fgx xr8 is an animal and when modded it's an absolute weapon.
Ive seen the hwp gtf on the streets in sydney. 1 thing about the gtf you didnt mention. John Bowe recorded 297km/h in one making it the fastest (top speed wise) australian made car ever in factory form. And ford did lie in the good way about power outputs. Talked them down, well down, as opposed to the standard issue manufacturer talking them up. So built to impress not dissapoint. The top speed run was done on a closed off section of a highway in the northern territory. So not a race track, or prepared track, but it was an official record.

I've always thought this was one of the best looking sedans ever made, and not just in Australia. Really interesting to learn too about the dyno numbers of this vs the GTS.
I am biased as the owner of a lovely original early build (April 2008) FG XR6 but there's just something really nice about the FG Falcon shape .I do also love the later FGX too though ... Add the magificent FPV array and it's a very special car indeed . The 5.0 V8 SC ...beautiful engine by any standard and chuck in the joy of a six speed bullet proof manual and it doesn't get any better ..So glad you got to review this gorgeous hunk of Aussie Ford goodness ...It was fantastic ..

Nice car no question about that. But showing the comparison picture of this car and that Red HSV, geez I just think that HSV look so much better. But just my shitty opinion and for what’s it’s worth I couldn’t afford either lol.
your dead right.. i also think the HSV looks better and has a much nicer interior.. but after driving both no question the GTF feels quicker and more of a handfull.. but ya wish they could have done more especially with the interior

It's not as loud as the sprint because the fg-x has less sound deadening than the fg. My GS and my mate's xr8 have the same exhaust setup and his is louder in the cab. Also the GT-F definitely got retuned dampening over the r-spec setup.
Looks like LC wasn't giving you full boost in 1st gear... usually these cars are lightning quick. I took my FPV GT on 2 big trips to Esperance and Kalbarri and the car just ate up the km... a true GT made for Aussie roads. Damon's a good bloke too... nice review mate !
I'm a Ford fan and I'm a Holden fan. It's such a shame we won't get any new Australian built cars. I live 5 minutes away from the old Elizabeth Holden's factory, it's still up but it's 90% empty .

I really wish more people would drive and enjoy there GTF's. If you want one to drive dont drop $100k+++ they do come up for around $80k with some kms on them. The over boost is addictive but also sucks as its very unpredictable, if it had an intercooler it would be insane. If i had a spare $50k i would get the Holy Grail kit in a heart beat.
I always say on your deathbed I highly doubt you are going to say I am glad I kept my performance/collectors car in the garage and never drove it... I believe in driving and enjoying your cars daily/as often as you want, but garaging them at night and washing/waxing regularly.. not tailgating to avoid stone chips etc... But drive/show them off and enjoy them
Thanks for your video! To me the FG sedan looks the best and I'd have the F6 out of the lot.. But I would have to tune it to get the best out of it.. so much power is locked from factory (as with all performance cars) but the sedan just looks the best IMO. Can't beat those tail lights and the rear defuser and wing, they all go together really nicely. Actually, without that bobble at the launch, I'd say you could have almost made it to the 5.00 seconds or very close at least.. would be good if you could adjust the launch control RPM... Set it to like 3500rpm or even 4000..

In 20 yrs time when we look back this car will be the pinnacle of Australian V8s, they did a awesome job with small $, the only regret is Ford keen to move on didnt give this thing the interior and exterior it should have. Whilst the F is something it shoukd have been with a bit more wow exterior and interior with uniqueness should have been labelled GTHO. Huge mistake Ford and really poor not to give a product its final thankyou to both its legacy, fords australian staff and the trueblues that have supported the product for so long. We will never see this again and somehow we are worse off for it! Great review Ross
You cant put the famous GTHO badge on a car that is not quite worthy of that title. If Ford had of pushed the Miami to be quickest 4 door on earth like the original, then maybe it would be worthy but Ford didnt have the budget for that.
The final Ford to ever wear that GT badge and the 351 badge on the side. Yeh i think everyone knew this thing was gonna be keeper. Every right now, mint example are at the 120k mark and rising by the year.
Damn every time anyone mentions fuel usage being bad it never comes close to my fg turbo. Usually sitting on 18.5ltr per 100km for me. In summer it can up around 20ltr
So how much better do you think this car is compared to the 2012 FG MKii GT that you reviewed earlier this year. 🤔 Like how much of a difference is there between the regular GT and the GT F?
to be honest i don't think you could tell unless maybe you were racing each other, than this GT-F would prob start pulling away at like double the speed limit haha.. id have to drive them both again one after the other to confirm tho
@@dcr1545 personally i think the falcon actually got down played by the reveiwers the commodore they compared it to was way down in power but apparently still beat the falcon check out the video reveiw of them the gtf351 vs 430kw hsv holden youll see what im saying
@@antzman88 cheers m8 I will check it out. Personally for me it's never ever about power. It's about the feeling one gets while driving, washing your car. Most of all it's about memories. I'm not a Holden, Ford, Mazda etc person, I'm a lover of car's that make one feel good inside. A Gemini even does that for me as my mate's and I spent many a good time in one on our P's. if you set your mind to it m8 you can get it no worries.. just be smart about it and start that process of learning how to save n make money.. these cars will be worth a lot by the time your ready but honestly they are already worth loads.. you got time to find one :)
What the LSA GTS? yes better looking yes better interior but I’ve driven both.. personally I think the ford goes harder.. but they are quiet close.. both epic cars
