German is not even that easy to sing in. Or just requires a different technique. But does anyone really sing Schubert in any other language than in German? I would be surprised

Elliot how nice you write that you were inspired by Aksel to work on your voice. You have achieved something phenomenal when it comes to emitting a beautiful, clean, deep timbre of your voice. So subtle in sound, delicate and so firmly embedded, supported on resonators, which makes it kind of round, full, juicy, natural, free, flowing straight from you to us. Nothing forced, nothing strained, nothing forced. For you it is singing, not like half recitations, a flat, non-colored, throat-nasal voice. Excessive, exaggerated emotionalism is not very effective. There is a saying The student has outgrown the master - the teacher, and you are an example of this. Bravo and congratulations. You are my new discovery. You can successfully compare you voice, sound, emission, to famous excellent singers - singers. You are still very young, so you have a lot of time to develop and enrich your voice, to enjoy everyone ... Piotr

It is still in the process of settling, and he still has a lot to learn about interpretation. With plenty of hard work and good guidance he will develop into a mature artist, which I'm sure we all hope. Gerard Souzay would be a good model in this repertoire.

I was going to mention that he made it through puberty with his voice intact. I think we all know what can happen there. It could have been the 👎 end! 😊

That made my day, thank you! Would have been easier If I were a native German, but I find that coming from a small country we are really forced to learn other languages, which is very useful for classical singing, of course :)

I thought as much hearing Aksel live at Stolberg many moons ago. I really hope his musical education takes him to Germany for a sensible period - so much to learn and to experience.

@@charlesmorgan8440 Unfortunately I was not able to come to Stolberg, as I had to teach at the same point of time. Aksel is always welcome to Germany, but he has excellent teachers. He can only come if he finds a teacher of the same quality as in Oslo.

Yes! Though I am also not a native German speaker, but understand the language when spoken ( or sung 🙂) clearly, this young man's diction, pronunciation, and phrasing was SO perfect and easy to understand -- so essential in effective Linder singing. Thanks !!!
