Welcome to my channel everyone!
I'm GT Charlie.
Today, I begin to walk you through my turbo adventure. It was absolutely amazing, and I have had so much fun throughout this journey. Lots of painful times, but so much more enjoyable :)
I installed the Speed By Design Kit, the SBD500X.
The car we will be in today is the 2015 Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0.

Charlie, so happy for you, Brutha! Yeah, thanks for the advice on waiting to turn your car on after installing the turbo to get it TUNED correctly first before doing any pulls or even driving it. Definitely will save us from a lot of weight loss of our wallets and heartache. This is @L810JSFlo , btw! Haha

Awesome content man. I think I’ve settled on an engine swap myself but these videos are great for those wanting to see the turbo kit in action (SBD’s kit is probably the best one out there right now in terms of bang for buck).

@@GTCharlie My man, i can guarantee a lot people are interested, even in their free time, to watch videos like these. I have Auto BRZ 2017 ecutek. You've clarified that e-tuning is the way to go, and have my tune done from James Martin as well. Do make an instruction video regarding the installation, donuts and maybe even touch upon why a turbo-charger over a super-charger. Great content. Subscribed

Dhillon maharaj hey man! I would recommend starting with figuring out whether you want UEL or EL! Uel headers for JDL and EL for sbd! Ive felt both jdl and sbd and I could even say, I would take both on separate cars over the supercharger any day!

All systems are capable of doing that, depending on the pressure withheld after the turbo, before the throttle plate

Its got to do with pressure and how much of it is left when the throttle body plates close :) my BOV opens at the right amount of pressure in the lines

How many miles where on it when you installed the kit? I’m curious, my FRS has 92k but runs like a champ. I baby it and do all my maint cycles 1k early,

I believe it was around 45-50k and Im at 65k now :P we love to baby our turbo 86’s :)

One day to get it all on, pretty much. It was more like spreading out the details the next day like worm clamps on an evap hose, loose bolt, etc. Next day was e-tune and done

Reliability on base tune pump gas and stock internals? I'll throw an oil cooler and catch can. Thoughts?

Dennis Prow I only stick with tuning tailored to your vehicle, so I can’t tell you reliability on base tunes. I hear stories good and bad on things like OFT. Oil cooler and catch can are both great additions to your kit, especially if you track hard.
