Holy shi… Gary! That's a great sound. I love your Fender-based sounds but this gives a whole different voice to your guitar. And, the tremolo is very nice sounding.
I dont have experiences with multi effects. How difficult are these to get a good sound ? Do you find yourself tweaking the FM9 from venue to venue? Is this setup more reliable than a tube amp? Thanks
@@hustlinc3540 initially I was tweaking it a lot but once I got it dialed in it's pretty much locked in. You have to tweak it at gig volume. I've found it far more reliable than the tune amps I've used in the past (knock on wood), as well as all the pedals and cables that connect them. it's also great when playing festivals that you can get your tone and don't have to make do with some dodgy backline. For recording it's a godsend!
@@GaryCainMusic when you say tweak it @ gig volume, do you mean EQ or just a volume adjustment? I played a few ampless setups years ago. Friend's Roland and boss gear and it was always a challenge to get everything sounding right venue to venue. Does the Fender cab project like a traditional amp? Thanks.
@@hustlinc3540 if you get it to sound great at low volume, that doesn't necessarily translate to the same at high volume mostly because of the Fletcher-Munson effect (how we perceived frequencies differently at different volumes). A big factor is the cabinet IR you pair with the amp (the "virtual" speaker cabinet). The Fender does do a pretty good job and has a relatively wide dispersal. I usually run it as my main volume and also run into the house PA.
Fabulous tone and playing! Thanks to you, I found myself buying an FM9 a couple months ago, and I've never been happier with my tone and tone possibilities. How does the fractal setup go over in Austin? I consider Austin to be like musical Mecca, but I'd hazard a guess that there aren't a lot of guys showing up with fractal gear. Cheers!
That's awesome man! The Fractal sounds killer so goes over great 😉 Still in the minority, especially amongst the bluesers, but a ton of touring pros are using Fractal, so it's starting to get a little more widely known. People come up to talk to me about it all the time!
